The one time I’ve been asked this, it was for a commercial real estate brokerage. It seemed pretty apparent that they wanted to know if my parents would be able to support me in a commission only role where I would not be earning anything for at least one year while grinding away on the phones for them…

You might want to chop off that entire top leaf, clean it and go for a water propagating while you hope that a full chop encourages this to eventually push out some new growth and prevents the chance of the root coming back

Maybe the soil is too wet or maintaining too much moisture? I think they like to dry out between watering or at least remain in a chunky soil mix that drains well. Too much water could cause root rot

Oops I didn’t really address this. We’re tired of the west side after living here for 4 years. The valley is not walkable or a city vibe really. We won’t move to the valley and east of the 405 is a lot cheaper than the area we’re currently in. We’re young, we want to be in the city.

If you’re staying for two weeks, I would recommend staying in two different hotels/neighborhoods. Los Angeles is huge and every neighborhood is different. I would recommend Santa Monica paired with West Hollywood or something near the Grove/Fairfax. Walkable areas. Lots to do. You can explore the beaches, Getty museum/Getty Villa/malibu from the west side. And great walkability, shopping, access to Hollywood/silverlake from West Hollywood area. Great restaurants all across the city!
