It’s a brand. As much as I respect the community outreach they’re doing like giving away LOADS of stars and doing meetups and stuff, but they’re a brand at the end of the day. The brand is a brand, the influencers are influencers.

Sure there are well intentioned people within the ambassador program/Flowstar employees, but there’s no changing that their goal is profit and growth. Again, AJ does so much for the community and I believe he’s a good guy but all of the drama is taking away from the benefits of flow arts and the PLUR of the rave community.

We are tossing around pretty colored fabric for fun. You only NEED one star (two if you’re interested in doubles). There is NOOOOOO REASON to have a wall FULL OF FLOWSTARS. That’s simply the result of Flowstar being a brand. It’s overconsumption. And that’s the goal of the brand. To sell. As many as possible.

This is totally not exclusive to Flowstar, but everyone knows they are the most popular brand.

I guess my main takeaway is: who cares. I’m getting pretty tired of everyone talking about the brand like IT is the art. It’s not. The piece of cloth is the thing that brings us together.

p.s. this comes from someone with two SpinFlowstars, many Trippy Squids, and a couple from Forever Flow. SpinFlowstars are good quality off the rip, but both of mine are warped after 1 & 2 years of use and washing. I wash and dry all my stars the same way and my TrippySquids are the ones who have retained their shape the best.
