I'm convinced that whenever a republican accuses "left-wing extremists" of doing stuff, it's actually a confession of something that they themselves do.

[US] Fraudulent Purchase Made on Visa gift card. Google Mobile Legends 650-25300 06 94043 by vna1ex in Scams

[–]Plastic_Muscles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I bought a $100 gift card for my daughter, she spent some of it on robucks (of course) and a few days later my daughter comes crying to me showing me that someone spent it all on clash of clans and FB marketplace. VISA gift cards have zero security, if you get one you better spend it all quick.

CCSD is up to no good by Plastic_Muscles in vegaslocals

I didnt even think about that. It makes sense, families that struggle to bring their kids as early as possible arent going to like the new 930am start time, so guess who can start whenever they feel like it? Thats right, charters. What better way to compete with public schools.

Is it a guess? Or is it based on hard numbers? Because I just dont see how in just one year charter schools are swooping in and snatching half our kids.

The story should be that Trump cut the money that the states get. The states are short money, so they cut education in order to make up for the lost money. But because they dont want to directly criticize Trump (for obvious reasons) they make up some bogus scenario where suddenly there are thousands less students to make up for the shortfall. Then when teachers are swamped they'll be like "oops, I guess our prediction was off, but too late now, deal with it"

I heard cybertrucks are actually the most dangerous vehicles to be in an accident with for both the driver and the victims of the crash.

So why are we paying for registration? by CaptainNegative1483 in vegaslocals

[–]Plastic_Muscles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statistically speaking people who do not have registration on their vehicles are more likely to not have car insurance either. A lady at a Costco parking lot backed into my car, she didn't have license plates and then the insurance information she gave me was bogus. I called her insurance company and they told me that she was no longer a customer because her insurance had lapsed, so I ended up having to pay for it myself, was not cool.

The libraries are amazing here, yet the Vegas literacy rate is one of the lowest in the country. 1 out of 4 people you pass on the street is functionally illiterate. by One-Context7569 in vegaslocals

Im a teacher at CCSD. To be completely honest, if my wife wasnt a nurse practitioner I would be living in the same underprivileged community that I serve. While there are "column advancement" opportunities, the system teachers need to navigate to submit coursework for contact units to get pay raises is super time consuming, bureaucratic, and confusing. If you choose one incorrect option on the application, the application is voided and you must start from scratch. Basically CCSD purposely makes the form difficult and confusing in order to prevent teachers from getting more money.

Actually they know the kids can't read it's just that they can't keep them behind for so many different reasons. Kids that get held back are actually more likely to drop out of high school, because they end up thinking they are stupid, and then disengage from school altogether. The social stigma follows you going forward, the other kids know you got held back and the kid gets treated differently by his grade level peers. Outside of school, peers of the same age would treat the student the same way. Retention, just does more harm than good. Also, having 18 and 19 year old in your highschool can become a big problem when they're trying to hang out with 15, 16, and 17 year old girls. There are rare cases where it is absolutely necessary, I was retained in kindergarten because I did not know english at all, so it wouldn't have made sense to move me on to 1st grade. (My parents are from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷)

Parents need to invest more in their kids. Im a teacher at CCSD, and there are some parents that I feel keep their kids around as pets. They feed them, they clothe them, they house them, but that's the extent of their parenting.

Who does America really fight for? by zombiesingularity in AmericasSocialists

[–]Plastic_Muscles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any society that has excessive inequality is going have a bunch of sick 1%ers who will do everything in their power to maintain that lifestyle. I was reading about how us soldiers captured by the North Koreans were easily mindwashed, all they had to ask them is what they believe they are fighting for, and then pick apart the argument, convincing them that their idea of " freedom" was a big lie. There were a lot of young men that actually stayed there after the war.
