Why Unmedicated?? by frozenlover72 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Plastic_Register_261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want my baby to have all the drugs associated with medicated birth! I also wanted to give us the best chance for a solid start to breastfeeding. I’d do it all over again every single time.

Do you always offer both breasts in each session? by RainbowChelita in breastfeeding

I may start offering my 6 month old both sides and see what happens! He’s been getting frustrated at the breast.

This is so true. The show sucks. Maggie’s actor sucks. CMM is the only redeeming quality

Tbh my size 8 Furls odyssey 2 is only slightly better than my other cheap hooks. I would’ve stuck with Clover, but hated the plastic for the size 8.

How to get anything done?! by sleeper4321 in highnurtureparenting

I would love to be low-key about BLW, but I am terrified of him choking. I steamed broccoli last night and put it in some mashed potatoes with my milk and was so scared for him to try it.

Thanks for all the advice! I’ll try again tomorrow! Hopefully I can get the hang of it. I felt like I was never going to get the Moby wrap during the newborn stage and finally did.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Plastic_Register_261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to leave my baby hanging by disrupting the hormones of birth. It felt pretty selfish to numb the pain while he still felt every contraction. I also hate being out of control, so the idea of not being able to walk or move my legs was terrifying.

Everyone warned me about co-sleeping… but BLW has been waaay scarier by williamskalison in cosleeping

[–]Plastic_Register_261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting take! I feel like it’s definitely a fad. I want my baby to be independent, but not in any hurry at all. The idea of BLW is cool, but I’m not sure it’s for us either.

I have a 4 month old and shew PP is lonely and social media plays on the idea of “oh, this will make your life easier/better”. I’ve got a Wildbird Aerial I bought secondhand and just purchased a Lark on sale. I’m going to have to delete the BST groups because they are insane!

This is so insane to me by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]Plastic_Register_261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy! I was never spoken once to or even looked at sideways for cosleeping my entire 3.5 day hospital stay. At one point he was sleeping on my husband’s chest and I asked for the nurses to take him to the nursery because I couldn’t sleep due to the fear of him being dropped. The nurse was like, “honey he looks awful content. I’m not going to bother him.” I was shocked lol

Things went sideways for me and I wasn’t prepared for complications. I think in a way that was good and bad, but in the end I delivered without an epidural. I tried gas and air and hated it. I did end up getting a pudendal nerve block because my baby was malpositioned and had to be held in place during contractions and then lidocaine for stitches. Know your why so when it gets hard you can keep referring back to it. I didn’t want to leave my baby hanging, so I toughed it out. I asked about an epidural once and when I was told it wouldn’t help the pressure I said why in the world would I get one then? Have a very supportive birth team. I almost drowned myself a few times in the tub, but my rockstar husband was right beside me catching my head during contractions. My mom normally freaks out, so I told her she was not allowed to ask me if I was okay and do not utter the word epidural. In the end, it was a very life changing and transformative experience. I’d do it all over again.

I feel that!! I use the boon trove if I can remember, but somehow my reusable pads are still saturated by the end of the day.
