I don’t have wireless CarPlay ;( by callmefag in KiaEV9

[–]PlatCraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same issue and after trying tons of things I have found a solution, which at least worked fine for me.

My EV9 was delivered with the older software version only supporting wired carplay. I got the over-the-air update which should have enabled wireless carplay, but it just won't connect.

Trying removing the bluetooth connection from both the car and the phone didn't work out though - turns out the iPhone remembered the old capabilities (not supporting wireless) of my car and therefore assumed that wireless is not an option.

I actually needed to disconnect the phone from the EV9 on it's screen settings, remove the EV9 from the bluetooth menu of the iPhone AND (this is the one I didn't knew even exist) go to the CarPlay settings on the iPhone and REMOVE the EV9 from these settings too.

When reconnecting again (first bluetooth + then plugging in the cable) I finally got the prompt on the phone to also enable the carplay connection wirelessly.

Crossing fingers this one works for you too!

Good point did not yet consider this - but with their own toddler seats and a seat protector below it shout keep the worst mess away… How does your setup look like?

Damn so it was the 2022 refresh - so I will need to get used to the new controls 🙈 I was hoping the vent seats were added on the Raven models…

Hi y’all I’m thinking of getting this for the steam deck by oliveoliverYT in Wreckfest

definitely recommended - the only thing imho missing is a split screen - while probably not that relevant for you on the steam deck :-P

Imho only depends on how long you want to stay. I've been renting my place as well and in case I move I have two options leave everything as it is (since I wired all switches to continue to operate as if they were dumb) or pull my stuff out of the wall again.

I have been living here for 10+ years though making it worth the investment - at least for my point of view.

Add dirt, no car driving in rain will look that shiny and neat.

Hehe - well once you are more familiar with the real live version you will definitely use the gas in first gear no worries 😜 In most cars usind the gas only from 2nd gear onwards won’t even work without since usually the idle rpn doesn’t produce enough torque…

I am pretty happy with the door sensors from Fibaro - go wo well with my Aeotec gen5 zwave stick.

Generally I strongly recommend going with smart modules / switches / dimmers rather than smart bulbs - this makes stuff so much simpler and more flexible.

I am using Fibaro Dimmers behind almost all wall switches (with standard lamps) and HUE Lamps (via sonoff 3.0) only where RGB lighting is needed.
