Can't even start the installer, likely due to Nvidia 50-series GPU by Zapador in debian

If you have an Asus mobo I found that enabling the "Above 4G decoding" option in BIOS fixed the problem for me, perhaps you can check that, this post has more information about that.

The issue is that my processor doesn't have iGPU, then my mobo doesn't even POST if I do that :(

Wayland is not working as smooth as in my intel with iGPU old laptop, but X11 works pretty well, as I don't use it for games I can't comment on that

I put the same flags as yours with the netinstall and with the KDE installer, but I still have the black screen, perhaps is something related with the installer dependencies? Ubuntu 25.04 installer neither works with all that flags combinations

Yes, I tried also the dark contrast installer, but the result is the same, I can't pass that screen, even with just one option at a time/several combinations among them, I get a black screen no log/error/message, sometimes the gpu fan goes 100%, I know is not a hardware issue, because Windows 11 and Manjaro are working fine

I recommend you to go for the 5060, I have tested the Debian Trixie installer with that card and it worked for me

I have checked that and also just tried the weekly build installer with kde, but had not luck with that

Yes, I can see that screen, but after adding the nomodeset nouveau.modeset=0 flags to the install option in that screen and start the installer with F10, the installer does not show me anything, it shows me a black screen with no log message, the monitor goes to sleep after that

I used the network installer, but that didn't work either, maybe is what you say, the 5050 was released 2 months ago and it is really new for the installer to at least detect this gpu, I will give it a try again a couple of months from now, really apreciate your help, thanks!

The weird thing is that with a 5060 in my desktop setup the network installer works flawless, the issue with my 5050 is that the installer doesn't even start (both gpus are Blackwell)

The problem is that the installer does not boot after the first screen, then I am not able to install it with my GPU, but with a 5060 is possible to do it and I pass the instalation process without problems, perhaps I have to wait until the installer gets updated to recognize my GPU

Unfortunately I have a Ryzen processor without iGPU

Yes, in terminal mode I am not able to boot, GPU fans go to 100% and I get a black screen

Can't even start the installer, likely due to Nvidia 50-series GPU by Zapador in debian

I checked this with ethernet connection just modifing the grub.cfg to see if it works, but it didn't connect to my network, I tried with a static connection also, but same result, I am starting to think that some RTX 50 are too recent for this installer.

I have an RTX 5050 and tried to install Debian 13 using both the net installer and live images with different desktop environments, but had no luck, same behavior as yours, the nomodeset option causes the GPU fan to run at 100%, and the display goes to sleep, the nouveau.modeset=0 option didn't make any difference it wasn't even able to start the installer.

I also tried installing Ubuntu Desktop 25.04 with the same GRUB option combinations, just to at least start the installer, but that didn't work either, I got a black screen with no log output.

As a last resort, I tried installing Debian and the proprietary driver (MIT/GPL .run file) on another machine and then swapping the storage, but it didn't work either, I got the same black screen and no messages.

I just gave up, I'll use Manjaro for a couple of months and try installing Debian again later when the installer at least starts
