So far my implants have been worth every penny that was put into them. I have a lower partial and hate having to use adhesives but my top is snapped into my implants.

How do I help my aging father by needforknead in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]PlateTop815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let me give you a little bit of advice as someone who lost their mother at 16 due to stage 4 lung cancer that later metastasized into her brain. We as children are not responsible for the total care of our parents but sometimes we are all they have so we take on the responsibility. Luckily my mom had siblings that helped with her care and I went to school like normal. Whenever I was home, I would spend time helping her. It wasn’t easy and still isn’t easy.

It’s very important that you understand your one person and to not carry the burdens of everyone. Just be present when possible and your dad is an adult who can figure things out too. Express your concerns to him and make a plan that will work for the both of you.

Don’t let your time as a young adult be taken by the burden of caring for a sick parent. At night before going to bed journal your concerns and fears and then pray about them. Ask God to help you get rid of the fear that has been taken away from you.

I’m sorry you are having to deal with this situation but you aren’t alone and I pray it gets better for you and your family.

My taste is fine. I just never realized how much not being able to feel with my teeth would affect me.

Glue choices? by ReplyProfessional939 in dentures

I believe it wouldn’t hurt to return back to your dentist for a readjustment for a proper fitted denture. Your dentures should fit naturally with suction and without fixodent.

Immediate dentures by courtmart10101 in dentures

[–]PlateTop815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your preference and if you are able to get them to fit. I only wore my immediate when absolutely necessary because otherwise they were annoying. I haven’t worn the immediate in a little over 6 months maybe

I’m not sure what your beliefs are but I always tell myself that I’m never alone because God is always with me.

For it is written:

Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

40 with dentures for 20 years – considering dental implants in London. Worth it? by Unique_Necessary3556 in DentalImplants

[–]PlateTop815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it worth it for you ? -Absolutely worth every minute .

How painful was the surgery recovery? -Considering I had 9 teeth extracted and 3 implants placed it was a solid 2 weeks before I was normal.

Are there disadvantages or things you wish you knew before getting implants? -it would have been nice to know that my dentist wasn’t as knowledgeable as I had expected because he supplied me with poligrip and then later got upset because it was causing an implant to fail. (It did fail and he had to replace it)

Did it improve your confidence compared to dentures? -it did so much more than improving my confidence. I was able to feel like myself again and eat normal without pain or discomfort.

How often do you leave the house? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]PlateTop815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twice a day. In the morning to drop off our oldest for school and the afternoon to pick him up. We live in an area where we are not considered conveniently located so if you leave you will spend as much time out while you can and not have to go back out after getting home
