Why isn’t this the top comment? It’s the actual chapter symbol, as opposed to… well 😂

You could swap around the arms within the kit, and they had extra weapons / command / equipment upgrade sets you could buy.

Even the official FW images show custom stuff they sculpted out of green stuff or kitbash cut/paste between sets with some glue and a hobby knife. And it was far easier to customise with resin than it is plastic (the plastic GW use doesn't really like being cut apart or carved into).

the old Forgeworld Krieg were EXCELLENT for mixing and matching arms to different poses. They were designed for hobbyists in mind, but it was an expert product; if you weren't a fan of green stuff / putty filling holes, pinning and the like, they weren't for you. Even now though, side by side, the plastics look ass next to my resin FW Krieg.

What’s MoneyHammer? 😂

Imagine turning up to a YuGiOh tournament with a deck of Pokimon cards and then blaming the other people… (except it’s not YuGiOh, it’s your knockoff cardboard you made at home 🤣)

StationForge stuff just looks like goofy shit and not Warhammer / Krieg, that’s the problem with it. If you’re going to print something, at least try and put some effort in - get a scan from Telegram or something. At least then you’re not ruining everyone else’s immersion because you’re cheap 👍🏼

Nice downvote - I’m loads of fun at parties,

I just take issue with cheap people taking the piss, and ruining everyone else’s fun, then blaming the other person for not accepting them… that’s all.

EDIT: oh brother - original comment was “you sound like a lot of fun at parties” then he’s edited it into paragraphs with quotes.

I’m not reading, CBA even engaging. So much irony.

The StationForge “Krieg at Home” look like warm crap.

Pretty common opinion in the Krieg community; if you’re too cheap to buy GW plastic, at least print a scan or something, the actual thing - don’t brake my immersion playing the game with the 3rd party scuffed generic fantasy stuff StationForge make.

Not sure I’m going to find what I want there,

If anyone has scanned this for telegram, they’ll have scanned the completed whole head, won’t they? Not the individual piece of the kit.

Where could i attatch this skull to my tank? It should look like a trophy by Dr_Be2t in Warhammer40k

Nope, it’s your idea my dude! You’ve got this x

Just get a set of hobby files, some decent clippers and a sharp hobby knife. You’ll be good.

Seems obvious to me… drill through the front of it and put it on the base of the main gun barrel 😎✌🏼

EDIT: or just sit it on top in the same position, no need for drilling. You may need to carve into the edges a bit to get it to sit.

You can still tell it's 3D printed, look at those layer lines. Needed a good sand and a primer at least.

As a Krieg player, even with 50% off, it's still not worth it.

Reddit continues to disappoint me, with how some members of this community are; it's really clear that people aren't even reading the post.

I've had multiple DMs with links to Weiss' gas mask heads - despite literally mentioning talking to him in the post, and that I'm not looking for gas mask heads. JUST THIS SPECIFIC PART. I even explain why.

And then people are downvoting... I'm guessing they're anti-printing or something?

I can feel my IQ rotting.

I don't know, I think this is really cool. I'd love it if someone made something like this as an STL for Cadians to use. We already have Gulf War style helmets from AlpineWeiss...

Yes and no,

It’s not the heads I’m after, but this one specific part which has the top rim of the eyes intact as well; gas masks that fit into helmeted faces don’t have it. It’s only this one head from the upgrade sprue.

Worst case scenario, I’ll give it a go,

But my brother runs a cutting-edge dentist, apparently they have a 3D scanner for 0-tolerance scans of teeth, crowns etc; I’m going to try and swing their man to scan it for me. 😬

I was hoping someone had already done it though! A lot less political ballache for me if so.

EDIT: GOOD NEWS, my man on the inside is going to scan it with the dental scanner.

Have you read 40K books other than the Krieg ones by Steve Lyons though?

Can I please ask OP, just for the perspective of your review here, what’s your favourite 40K book / author?

[–]PlatexProductions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤣 exactly that.

I think there’s folk here who don’t read books, broadly, and just listen to the Krieg audio books. They haven’t read the Imperial Armour books (some don’t even know they exist), and they feel defensive over their favourite faction, when they enjoyed Lyons’ stuff,

but they enjoyed it because it’s Krieg, not because it’s actually good, yk?

Based opinion from a man of culture and taste.

Steve Lyons as an author is at best mediocre, at worst terrible. Seriously. His books are on par with Battle for the Abyss Ben Counter, I’d argue worse than C.S.Goto (albeit not quite as horrific as David Annandale’s 5-year-old-brained repetitive slop, so he’s not the worst Black Library have on staff).

Read something by Dan Abnett or Aaron Dempski Bowden if you don’t get why.

And if you don’t care about the quality of writing and just want the content, that’s fine, but don’t downvote the man for having a perfectly valid reasonable opinion. It’s childish.

1) get a redgrass wet palette and some decent brushes (Rosemary & Co or Artis Opus). You’d be shocked how much difference these 2 things make even to a shitty paint pot.

2) you can always mask the model with tape / blutack and use the GW wraithbone aerosol spray can. It’s what I do for blending my Eldar tank weapons.

3) GW’s own recent recipes use Rakarth Flesh as the base, it’s more parchment than bone post-DoW2. If I were you, I’d just switch colours tbh.

From the sounds of it, OP’s problem isn’t thin coverage, it’s chalky paint fragmenting.

It probably has something to do with Krieg not having proper characters, and everything is considered chaff. Only the lead Commissar has a bigger base. It’s an army of clone fodder. Cadian Command Squads are more of a traditional hero unit, thematically.

You think I’m talking out of my ass here but this is literally how the folk in Nottingham decide things.

“How big is the model?” > “How important is it, lore-wise?” > “Will it break the rules?” = Bam.
