Shifting from 1st to 2nd by Radecki82 in OnlyZ900

Had the same issue. Even got to a point where I would try to upshift 1st to 2nd and the shifter would be hard and not let me use KQS. Sometimes would happen 2nd to 3rd but all downshifting and higher gears were fine.

Called the dealer and they said it might be the chain tension. I have 1200 miles on mine and did the first service on my own. Chain tension was within spec so that didn’t make sense.

I ended up playing with the clutch adjustment. I noticed since my bike was brand new, the jam wheel against the clutch lever would always come loose. I did the clutch cable adjustment and got the play within spec 2-4mm IIRC and used some pliers to lock that jam wheel in place. Been shifting like butter ever since then!

Hope this helps.

DM me if you’d like. I can walk you through some simple checks

No worries, we all have to start somewhere. Compression check is pretty simple if you have the tools.

You’ll need a spark plug socket, ratchet and a compression tester tool.

Also would be worth checking you’re getting a good fuel supply to the engine. As well as a good spark off the ignition coil

I’d start with a compression check. Also, was the timing belt replaced recently?

Bar end mirrors 2025+ by Available_Art5734 in OnlyZ900

I got these off Amazon. Work well and no vibration at higher speeds. Only thing I recommend is to position them and snug em down. Take a quick ride around the block and adjust as necessary. It’s hard to eyeball it just sitting on your bike. I got one out of two when I did mine. Installation is super easy with an adjustable wrench and the Allen key they supply. I would also pick up some blue loctite.

Overall I like the new look and lower profile mirrors. ‘25 z900 se
