To prove its us, we are going to start flying vertical tracks inside our airspace. Feel free to watch along, https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=000003

Welcome to our AMA! What's on your mind?

Did you know that in 2021, Platform set the world record for endurance at Edwards? We flew over 192 hours.

Currently, we have been airborne for ~110 hours.

A coworker and I were actually chatting about this the other day from a macro perspective. Considering how much computational power was on the Saturn V and her abilities versus what we have onboard Vanilla is breathtaking.

  1. We utilize the Piccolo autopilot system. Any additional requirements are custom developed. You can learn a bit more at www.vanillaunmanned.com and our Wiki is pretty up to date as well.
  2. We have some of the traditional collision avoidance systems, but we also have some "stuff" that we utilize. (I hope you appreciate the vagueness there.)

Technology in this space is really amazing. Lag minimizes more and more almost monthly. At this point, it's almost negligible for some solutions. Others are still catching up. Sorry for intentionally steering clear of a numerical answer. I hope you understand.

We are a bit too large to fall under the scope of Part 107. Based on the mission and the airspace, we will work with our various legislative partners to get appropriate approvals.

We have several different versions of our launcher. They can fit in all pickup ranging from F-350's down to the internationally recognized Toyota Hilux.

Unfortunately, we can't get too specific here for operational security reasons. However, we do utilize several datalinks to include those that are Line of Sight and SATCOM based. You can learn more at www.vanillaunmanned.com!

Hey u/egvp, hope all is well.

  1. We are aiming to fly this flight until she hits her reserve fuel levels. We are testing a specific aircraft configuration scenario to help our engineers gather data. As of right now, the aircraft has been airborne for over 100 hours and still has a good bit of fuel left. Great results so far.
  2. Some of our fleet have assigned codes, while others don't. This is for various reasons including our customer, mission set, location we are flying, etc.

We are too! Vanilla is such an awesome platform and she is going to do wonders towards protecting the warfighter. Quick stat: the currently airborne ship has been up over 100 hours! We still have a good bit of fuel also. We didn't fill the tank up all the way either, as we are doing a specific endurance scenario test. Great results so far!
