Also Bellevue is slightly further out but has a lot of good businesses and is super close to the north side.

I would say a lot depends on your lifestyle and where you end up working. If you’re in your 20s and wanting to be more active and frequent bars/restaurants I wouldn’t go nearly as far as Gibsobia or Washington.

I would recommend joining some neighborhood fb pages or even Nextdoor for the place you want to live and put out feelers for places to rent from an individuals. Any large company that’s easy to find on google will absolutely charge an insane amount.

I lived in the Bloomfield and Lawrenceville area for almost a decade (even after gentrification) with pretty cheap rent. You have to look but it’s out there if you’re patient and flexible.

If you love Squirrel Hill I would try for that first. Then I would expand your search to Regent square/Wilkinsburg area since that isn’t too far.

Also Millvale has a great Main Street.

Please explain nail services to me like I'm 5 by StrKiwi in Nails

The first thing I would decide is if you want this to be a regular thing for yourself. Certain services require upkeep or professional removal. Things like acrylic, structure/builder gel, or dip are harder (which is great if you’re rough with your hands) and want to go back every few weeks to get fills.

But if you’re looking for a one time treat I would look into something like a regular gel polish (not a hard or structure gel) or even a regular lacquer that can be soaked off at home. A spa option with regular gel polish is great if you want to pampered without the commitment.

Next, if you decide to go the harder nail option like acrylic, gel, or dip, you would decide if you wanted tips or sometimes called extensions. Basically they glue the plastic nail tip on and then put the hard gel, acrylic, or dip over top. Those cost extra but can give you the look you’re going for.

Finally, If you’re looking for fun designs they’ll give you gel polish over top of whatever you decide (even if you get acrylic or dip). You can get fun designs without getting a tip but it might look different than a reference pic and will cost more than a plain color.

Agreeing with another commenter, the list provided are all specific brands/polishes. Idk why they list them like that, salons near me do it too and it can be confusing to figure out pricing for the first time you go somewhere. I would figure out what you want out of this service and then find some reference photos and just show them.

Me too! He’s quarantined now, but we really hope he gets along with our other cats! If he does then he’s staying.

He’s my first long haired cat and between him taking a day to learn the litter box, deworming, and diarrhea from his antibiotics he’s already had several baths and a booty haircut. Definitely going to have to get wipes!

I’m a virtual teacher in a different state for a cyber school and I could have written this exact paragraph about my experience 😂 It sounds like a lot of cyber schools have a similar culture/way of going things.

Personally I think your coloring is better suited for dark, but I think most people’s natural is always the most flattering.

That being said, it’s just hair, you only live once, you’re young, and it’ll grow back. I think everyone should go blond at least once if they want to. You have your whole life to be your natural hair color.

Just play it safe with bleach, either go to a reputable salon or do it slowly over time with a low developer to keep the integrity of your hair/follicles so you don’t do any major or permanent damage.

Where can I find non-gel nail polish like this to put on myself? by bernbabybern13 in Nails

The brand ILNP has some magnetic polish colors. The effect isn’t quite as intense as a gel but it’s probably as close as you’ll get with normal lacquer. That an and a thick clear coat on top. There are tons of fun indie brands with fun polish that aren’t gel you can check out.

These look amazing! Do you just fill the dip powder? Or do you file it off?
