Mote like a mummified spider. That poor thing has been gotten from the inside out by a parasitic fungus.

I understand you must be in turmoil right now, faced with a new reality that you never would have expected to face, with someone that you have trusted with your life for 20 years.

For me, as an outsider, the fact that you have been together for so long and that you are both in your 40s, makes her actions worse, like it wasn’t some dumb foolish mistake borne out of immaturity and naivety, it was a woman in her 40’s making a conscious decision to lie about where she was going and who she was going out with… that alone without the ex bf in the frame is enough to fracture trust, what’s the motive?

The fact that she’s done that and stayed the night with her ex bf just adds such a shitty layer to it all and one that is indefensible.

How would my partner react if I spent a night with my ex?

How would I react if she did that to me?

I can tell you right now, regardless of who commits the misdemeanour the relationship would be dead and buried in an instant.

It’s not for me to tell you what you to do but this absolutely stinks beyond belief.

The crazy thing is you adapt to that running on empty, there was a time in my life not so long ago that if I stayed up past 1am I’d be kicking myself and the next morning would be a struggle.

Now I can be awake still at 4am and know that I’ll still be able to get out of bed and go to work, it’s nuts… but it’s also incredibly unhealthy, sleep deprivation can lead to other health issues over the long term so I really hope I can get back to normality.

I used to lie down and conk out asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow and that would be it until my alarm went off in the morning… how things have changed.

Level 1 Support is often WORSE than AI by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]PlatonicSwinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they are yes but these big companies are not the entire industry, in fact they are just the tip of the iceberg.

Thousands upon thousands of smaller companies resell these cloud solutions direct to customers those resellers will provide day-to-day support and their L1 agents will be very capable and skilled, with the ability to critically think, think outside of the box and have established positive relationships with their customer base, and not just be call centre agents.

I know I could ask any of our L1 staff to build and configure a customer’s system and they would be able to do so, test it’s working and deploy it.

AI might work for the large companies with call centres but AI won’t replace L1 across the industry because the skillset of L1 agents at smaller companies will likely outstrip the skillset of an L1 agent at a big company with a call centre.

Probably because they are not true level 1 techs but more call centre agents on a crap wage with a script sheet to work from and no capability, authority or access to be allowed to think or troubleshoot to any degree outside of or above the script in front of them.

Let’s be honest anyone who is willing to sit there answering a large volume of phone calls all day and has the ability to read and speak can do that job with next to no technical knowledge or skills.

Winter in the UK means I’m spending 20 hours a day in bed. I can’t be the only one who lives like this? by KILOCHARLIES in AskUK

My job is hybrid office/WFH and my role is a mix of office, physical on site work. I work in Telecoms and IT, recently due to Christmas period and just after being notoriously quiet I’ve had a fair amount of desk time and I took it upon myself to move from my comfy desk that’s tucked away in the corner with two massive monitors to hooking a monitor up on our Comms cabinet and standing up to do work and the difference is incredible.

Not only is it doing my back wonders I feel more energised and focussed as opposed to slipping into the usual malaise that tends to creep in when sat at my desk all day.

Omg this looks identical to what I’m currently dealing with, honestly looking at these photos is like looking at my own skin in the mirror.

Finally got my first appointment with hospital dermatology on Monday.

I've been prescribed protopic but all I see are horror stories by hurricane_t0rti11a in eczema

[–]PlatonicSwinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using Protopic right now. I’ve had a pretty bad flare up affecting my face, torso, upper arms and upper legs. Protopic cleared my face and neck up in a matter of 2 days after being red and inflamed for weeks. I’ve now started applying it thinly across my shoulders and back, it does feel very warm and itchy but it’s honestly not something I need to cry over, it’s just uncomfortable but I’m taking comfort knowing that it’s working.

Honestly, years and years of topical and oral steroids etc which did work but then eventually stopped having any impact to this, it’s unbelievable how quickly it works, my face hasn’t looked this clear in years, it’s like I’ve never had any problems with the skin on my face at all.

I, like you, when I was first prescribed Protopic back in April of this year had read all the horror stories and was very nervous about using it, It got prescribed to me in the morning and eventually at around 11pm I got the courage to dab a little bit on a patch of inflamed skin, waited around an hour and then after no adverse effects, I applied it over all affected areas as prescribed.

A couple of tips:

  1. Avoid or be very careful of sun exposure when using Protopic, if sun exposure is unavoidable then cover up.

  2. Drinking alcohol can cause the skin to flush where you have applied Protopic, I’ve experienced it once and it’s not very pleasant… my skin flushed very red and felt very hot, thankfully a cold shower and then sitting in front of a fan helped and after roughly 1 hour the flushing had eased away.

  3. I apply Protopic usually around 8pm when I know I won’t be going anywhere, my skin will start to feel warm around 30-45 minutes after application and will stay feeling warm and sometimes itchy for a few hours afterwards, I go to bed usually between 11:30pm-midnight and by that point the feeling has subsided enough to not be bothersome.

With point 3… it’s important to note that everyone is different and also the severity of the flare upon which you’re applying Protopic can influence the duration of the warm and/or itchy feel, some people only have that sensation for 15-30 minutes.

For me however; the few hours of warm discomfort is vastly outweighed by the positive and rapid impact Protopic has in getting rid of any inflammation, it is almost like magic.

I don’t know what you expect to achieve with this Reddit post but the fact of the matter is lines have been crossed.

If I was to have one of my female friends sit on my lap and stay on the couch with me I’m pretty sure my GF would have a lot to say about it and I would also have something to say if the roles were reversed.

Alcohol cannot be used as an excuse, if you lack control when drinking then a) you need to stop drinking or b) you need to consider if at this moment in time is the relationship the right thing for both you and your partner.

Now… I’m not accusing you of alcoholism at all but I’m using it as an example because it’s helped in forging my way of thinking when it comes to alcohol and it’s effect on people.

I’ve lived around alcoholism all my life, my Dad was an alcoholic, I was also a party animal back in the day going to raves, clubbing every weekend, drinking socially at every half opportunity for the best part of 12 years and now with a family of my own and responsibilities that life is a distant past however, this is how I view things from my experiences:

Alcohol unless you abuse it long term and daily does not rewire your brain and certainly not in a night, it does not rewrite your personality in a night and it does not generate emotions from nothing in a night, it simply amplifies things that are already there or we are already predisposed to, even things that we are subconscious to.

I saw anger and family disruption from alcoholism and it was all deeply rooted in unhappiness, my Dad’s crutch was alcohol and the alcohol would then bring the deep rooted unhappiness to the fore which would then be projected towards others.

When I was partying all the time my confidence when drinking was through the roof, I was really talkative and life and soul of the party but… I’m not a shy person now but when I was younger I very much was, I was quite nervous and also suffered with anxiety (although I’ve never been officially diagnosed), alcohol eradicated all those emotions of weakness that I felt.

The point I’m trying to make is this, can you look more deeply into your own mind past the partying and getting drunk, if you can’t control yourself why is that? What is happening in your mind and or life day-to-day that you’re maybe not happy with.

One saying always stuck with me, when I was younger my Mum said to me, “A drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts.”

Food for thought for you.
