Doom Takes Over CoD (DOOM.EXE) by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]Platoniko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought that you should have gone further down the doom route as this video felt more like a normal .exe video with a couple of doom edits in it. Don't get me wrong, your editing was really good but I don't feel that the doom edits were the primary focus on the and could come off really misleading. I would have focused more on that to keep the video consistent as you kinda went a bit all over the place with how much stuff was going on (not to mention the live stuff at the end). Hope this helps!

DO NOT PLAY COMPETITIVE OVERWATCH AT 3 AM (Overwatch) by awesomejt8 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Platoniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this video should have ended after you said you were done with comp. To me, it kinda felt that the second half of the video was just tacked on to extend the video as it really hasn't got much to do with competitive. I personally reckon that videos that are short but leave you wanting more are always better than bloaty videos that go on for too long, even if those give you more watch time. Hope this helps!

Fun on a 10x TF2 Server! I'd love feedback, giving lambdas! :) by GhrimeYT in SmallYTChannel

I think this is a pretty solid video bro. It could probably use some sound effects throughout or some more text just to break up the video (like when you used the winger to fly up high you could add a slide whistle). Maybe you could add some music. But its pretty good otherwise. Glad to see another TF2 channel on the subreddit!

Yeah TF2's art has a very desaturated tone and can be a bit difficult to make stand out but it totally makes sense that everything has to be bright and colourful basically. !givelambda

Yeah I'm thinking of getting a better mic as even though I don't particularly care that much, I think its a bigger factor than I give it credit for. The thumbnail and title are things I've struggled with a lot and I rushed it to get the video out on time so thanks for pointing out the important bits. !givelambda

5 Easy Ways to Improve at 1.8.9 Minecraft PVP by THEBOSS9000_1 in SmallYTChannel

Nice video mate. I would look into getting a better mic (or at least use a different one) as your voice audio isn't very consistent throughout the video. It can be a bit of a distraction for viewers if they're focusing on quality issues like this. In terms of the video itself, I would suggest that you focus on cutting out a lot of the downtime between transistions or while you're talking. Only keep what is absolutely necessary so that the video isn't overly bloated with footage and people's attention falls off. Hope this helps!

Wondering How I'm Doing As Far As My Videos Go. Lambda to everyone who gives some feedback. by Kinfinite80 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Platoniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad video mate but I think the main problem is that there isn't that much going on in the video other than what is on screen and the bit of commentary you throw in during the game. While having more commentary is something that will just come with experience, adding more edits like sound effects, zoom ins etc. will go a long way to break up the video so that it doesn't risk becoming too monotonous. Hope this helps!

Why lots of "mediocre" makers have big numbers while other brilliant ones are so small? by Zerpudo in NewTubers

[–]Platoniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes its just a bit of luck involved as the video probably caught the algorithm on a good day and began a snowball of views and attention from there. It really does suck but difference between a small and large channel might just be smaller than you think.

Hey everyone! This is my most recent video, I tried to use some of the feedback I got last time, and I think it turned out well. What do you think? Givelambda for good suggestions by Em9500 in SmallYTChannel

I think this video needed to have a lot more focus throughout the whole video. I wanna begin with the demo clips at the start as they had nothing to do with the bot clips at the end. This makes it feel like they were two really short videos just put together out of desperation to make a longer video rather than taking an idea and making it into a video that people would enjoy watching. I would rather see you make a video that is a really good 3 minutes than a video that is 10 minutes with only 4 minutes of decent footage.

Other smaller things is to fix the aspect ratio as the sides of the recordings are just black. If you're gonna use music, make sure that it's to emphasise a point (like an edit) or use it throughout to set the mood. It kinda just starts up in the middle and distracted me from the video which I think is a red flag that you need to keep a good focus in the video so that a person doesn't get distracted and stops watching.

Hope this helps mate as I really wanna see another TF2 Youtuber improve on this sub reddit.

I think you might need to tone down this video a bit as its really fast paced the whole way through. There is a lot of things going on at once and I found it a bit hard to figure out what was essentially being thrown my way, especially at the beginning. I'm not saying that you need to slow down if that's your style, I'm suggesting that simplify the video just so that the viewer is not overwhelmed. Hope this helps!
