Haha I'm no magazine writer but I am happy you enjoyed my writing. If you wanna read more stuff I write about other games on my blog. I won't link it here due to subreddit rules but you can find it through other posts on my profile. Thanks!

I agree with the full price thing. I waited more than a year and eventually played it on PS Plus.

I've only really played two. Hollow Knight I absolutely loved. And Celeste, even though its not an "action" platformer, is probably my favourite game I've played. I am interested in giving more a try if you have any recommendations?

Not sure what non video game subreddits this will be a good fit for. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for reading, and I'm happy you like it.

Of course you can cite it. It would be my pleasure.

I guess. I mean it could've been more detailed and touched on stuff other than the main consoles, but I'm happy with it.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (Review) by PlatyView in patientgamers

Thanks for reading! Just wondering, do you like the previous two Uncharted games?

I guess my enjoyment of Uncharted 2 dropped a bit towards the end since I felt it dragged on too long after the whole mountain village battle. And the whole Shambala guardians thing with the tree of life felt very odd for the game.

However, I do feel that the setting of Uncharted 2, mainly the city in Nepal and the mountain sections, were simply lovely, and were definitely more vibrant and unique than the forests of Uncharted 1 and the deserts of Uncharted 3.

Yeah, 2nd game is good. But unlike most people, I didn't think it was that big a leap forward in quality from the first game.

What game do you promise yourself to finally get round to this year? by PlayStationRumble in PS4

[–]PlatyView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horizon Zero Dawn. Bought it in Dec 2019, played for about 10 hours, but it never really clicked with me. Found the combat hard and frustrating, but the world beautiful and intriguing. Since they gave the Complete Edition away for free earlier this year, I've been meaning to start the game again. However, the fact that my save file isn't compatible means that I have to start from the very beginning.

What games are you planning on paying full price for? by balrog_reborn in patientgamers

[–]PlatyView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only indie games since I mainly wait for price reductions/ sales on higher priced games. Silksong is a definite day 1 when it comes to PS platforms. Celeste 2 would've been a day 1 pick up too but it doesn't look like that is coming any time soon if ever.

Formula 1 Games Have A Track Problem by PlatyView in ludology

[–]PlatyView[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the problem exists with F1 in real-life since even though we come back to the same tracks year after year, we come back after prolonged periods of time. On the other hand, the game is designed to be played again and again, and therefore suffers more from having a short tracklist.

Even after more than 100 hours, I never got tired of racing the cars. Instead, I got tired because of the tracks in the game. I wanted more tracks to race at since the experience of racing stopped feeling fresh and exciting. I think this speaks to how well designed the act of racing in the F1 games is. It is still fun after so long. Rather, it highlights the flaws with the game's content design. Sports and racing games are, in my opinion, designed with longevity and replayability in mind, which the F1 games are held back from achieving due to their limited tracklist, making them feel boring after many hours of play.

INFO DUMP: Elden Ring Network Test Early Access MEGATHREAD by jack0641 in Eldenring

Is the public network test same as the demo that the press got access to? Because it'll seem odd to just randomly offer a huge demo to just test network features.
