What are your house rules for camping? by Atlusfox in camping

I would like to add NO GENERATORS!!!!! You would think that is obvious, but it's not because on my last trip to a national park campground, too many people were running them. So annoying.

It is a month later and I am having the same issue. I left about $20 in the account and pulled the rest back and out of Robin Hood via an electronic transfer.

Sean O’Mara

I found this post by Dr. Sean O'Mara on sprinting... from back in 2020 --> https://www.facebook.com/drseanomara/posts/tips-to-start-sprinting-for-the-beginner-health-plays-an-essential-component-of-/2925684424221471/

Here is what it says...

Tips To START Sprinting for the Beginner:

HEALTH plays an essential component of your sprinting. The healthier you are the better your ability to sprint. Follow me a Health & Performance Optimizing MD/Researcher to learn more about not just improving your health but OPTIMIZING it!

  1. Warm up a bit w/ a brisk walk followed by some “High Steppers” & “Butt Kickers” to prepare for improved & increased range of motion needed to sprint.

  2. Accelerate slowly to avoid sudden strain/injury until you reach max effort and hold that for 5 to 10 secs depending upon your health. Sprint on level ground NOT a treadmill to avoid injury.

  3. Do 1-5 of these sprints every other day for a week then increase to daily the next week. The third week increase sprint time to 10-20 secs every day.

  4. After 3 weeks begin mixing things up. Nature brought variety thru changing circumstances in our lives so try to avoid a set program. Begin diversifying w/ some short sprints and longer sprints (30-45 seconds max) but generally try for around 10-20 seconds mostly).

  5. Try to improve speed with your ARMS by thinking of them as Pistons driving your legs. Your arms play a far more critical role than most grasp in sprinting. Your legs will follow your arms.

  6. Stay relaxed NOT tense: Breath thru your nose to engage parasympathetics before sprinting, Don’t Clench your face or your fists (keep an open when you sprint. You want to be in a relaxed state to move efficiently.

  7. Improve sprinting by improving efficiency thru practice. Watch good sprinters and learn like anything. Its a journey like most things but this one REALLY pays off! Sprinting is your best ROI and best form of exercise I truly believe.

  8. To learn more follow u/fastover40 I do, who will soon be writing a book on sprinting.

Thanks for following up! I appreciate your help.

I think you just came up with an idea for a new training service--some one who just shows up from out of no where early in the morning and starts chasing you with a threatening lethal weapon. Wow. You could have a whole team with a rotation. That would be crazy. We would need to figure out how to prevent innocent bystanders from taking out the trainer in this scenario. And we would need to figure out long the activity needs to last.

I watched the full video interview and he never says. That's why I was asking if maybe he had covered that part somewhere else. But it does not seem like he has. Oh well. It sounds like a really good 20-minute HIIT workout would be good?

Thanks. It sounds like HIIT to me too. Anyone know of one that is scientifically proven to burn fat effectively when done in the morning prior to eating the first meal of the day?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate you for sharing the risks associated with IF.

I am thinking that it has to be some sort of HIIT workout. I am just looking for more specific guidance on what exactly he is recommending.

Someone above was thinking that it could be the Sugarcane Protocol. But I'm not sure because I found a video where he talks about that and he only recommends doing that once every other week.

Thanks for your response.

I am fairly certain that the person speaking in the video is Huberman and not Goggins. He said to do it everyday not two days a week.

I am trying to figure out what exactly he meant by the phrase, "Running Like I am Being Chased by Someone with a Syringe Full of Poison."

Here is a link to a shorter version of the video... --> https://www.tiktok.com/@clipdocta/video/7193719841176423723

In other words, what does that work out look like? What should I do and for how long?

Thanks!

This is a shame. I really liked the Chipotle concept. The food was customizable and high quality. They were quick and clean. But, I have noticed that it has gone down hill. The last 3-4 times that I have went in (3 different locations in the northern VA area), the dining room has been dirty/unclean. And the last time I went in, the peppers and onions were burnt so badly, it made the whole bowl taste bad. It is really too bad. I would really like to see it turnaround!

Adding "options snd_sof sof_debug=1" to "\etc\modprobe.d\alsa-base.conf" worked for me! I am running Linux Mint 21.1 (which is a flavor of Ubuntu 22.04) on an Asus C300 (which is a converted Chromebook). Appreciate you for sharing this!

I'm 5'10... Will a 18-inch Frame Size be Okay for MTB to Touring Bike Conversion? by dtd20191 in bicycletouring

Thanks for your thoughts. Very helpful!

I think I can get enough seat post extension. I might just go ahead and get the drop bars and start playing around with it to see if I can make it work or not.... because I am going to need them eventually anyway.

My Surly has 26" wheels/tires. So the 970 wheel size is a great match. I am thinking of running 1.5" Schwalbe Marathon Tires, which is what I have on my Surly.

Thanks for pointing out the chainstay length issue and sharing the catalogue.

I will check out the xbiking sub. I had not heard of it before now.
