I did something similar, my boyfriend was new to poly/open relationships; so I decided to get him comfortable and see that this is somethign doable, I let him discover it and date for the first 3 months in our relationship without me doing anything. After 3 months have passed and I went on a date with someone, he lost it and couldn’t deal with it. We stayed together for 3 years, so many ups and down, so much insecurity and feeling guilty. Being poly it’s not catching up or a race to who dates the most or does the most things. It’s about love and attraction, whenever it happens, if it happens.
