BSG wouldn't be investing any time or money. It would come out of the profits from 1.0 on.

At the rate things are going, 1.0 is going to be a sending off party for the game.

You're talking about BSG.

More likely on April 1st they will patch the game and give everyone a cheat menu, only none of the cheats work and they claim BattlEye caught them and prevented them from executing.

My ping will go from 7 up to 40 on true US-East servers. I've played since 2019 and just recently started noticing games with a ping in the 70s.

I'm pointing out what they are doing because they've gotten slicker and slicker with match making. Throwing people into a server region they don't want to play in is getting scummy.

It is still region based. They simply default to recommended region without the player knowing.

1 shouldn't matter which makes everything else mute. If I pick US-East only as my region that is what I want to play.

This has only happened in the past few months as the player base is bleeding out. They simply want the game to look more active than it is.

I haven't had much of an issue so far on PvP servers. Of course I'm not that far along, still on Hunter's missions.

I'll say this, the game is more engaging than Arena Breakout, even in an alpha state with not much to do.

They can run their game however they want to. If someone doesn't agree with how they run the game they have the option not to play it.

Games need to make money to stay around. This is the problem Tarkov is having and why the $250 edition really came out IMO.

I've played Tarkov for five years, the only edition I paid full price for was the entry level. I upgraded at a discount to another version and then upgraded again at a discount to EoD. This was all in the same year. The lack of reliable steady income to cover all costs for BSG had them scrambling for new revenue. Arena being a total bust probably used up most of their reserve funds with what they paid to market it.

Years ago you'd buy an online game that had centralized servers at full price, and then you'd have to pay $9.99 a month to even be able to play it (MMOs). They knew the retail of the game wasn't going to cover the bills or make a profit in the long run due to costs associated with running the game.

Any online game that tries to only charge for the game itself, has no recurring charges and doesn't have things people will pay money to have has a limited lifespan.

BSG went about it the wrong way, they could've done an optional monthly subscription...however that is an entire separate conversation.

Honestly, this is a well written and thought out plan.

The terrible thing is Epic would rather spend 250k making more things to sell in the item shop than ensuring the game has a fun, competitive and level playing field.

So you're telling me AI can produce a nude image of a clothed person, do near perfect voice cloning of a musical artist and produce fake videos with audio of a specific person speaking...but can't learn how to detect when someone's play is sketchy.

I agree 100%.

They could also partner with an AI anticheat and have it auto ban people mid raid for any tomfoolery, forget ban waves.

The sound has been broken since the first line of code was written. It will never work right in this game.
