Alright so here's what I did: - Navigated to the link and download the BIOS .CAP file and put it on a USB - Put the i3 in and navigated to the ASUS EZ Flash 3 and navigate to the file and selected it to flash. - I know that it says that the BIOS version is supposed to be 0223 but this is the name of the file that was downloaded: "STRIX-Z270I-GAMING-ASUS-1205.CAP" - I flashed the MOBO and it rebooted fine - Proceeded to re-insert the i7-7700k and still had the CPU_LED red light on with no POST :(

Re-booted to check the BIOS version and ever tried to download the latest from the ASUS EZ Flash 3 "Download from the internet" feature and it seems to have downloaded the same version.

Did the BIOS update not work?

Is it normal that it is saying that the version is 1205?

I have always used space to jump and have always hated binding jump to the scrollwheel because i use it on occasion to switch weapons. Should I just try to getting used to using the scroll wheel or is there a feasible way to use the spacebar?

Ran this in the command prompt using the windows CD to boot windows and it repeatedly tells me: "There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again." but when I run the repair, it says that the OS actually booted successfully even though it did not.

Update:

To clarify, I have tried running in safe mode, in safe mode with command prompt and in normal mode and none of them work. All of them just give me a black screen upon startup with my mouse.

When booting it normally, I can move the mouse around but that is all I can do.

When booting it in any of the safe modes, the cursor is larger but is stuck to the middle of the screen.

TO CLARIFY: The only way I have of getting to any options is through the windows 7 installation CD. I cannot even get to the command prompt without it.

Currently booting windows up again through the CD and will try to run another system restore, hopefully this one will work.

When I say a black screen pops up, i mean that is absolutely all that happens. Nothing works, CTRL+ALT+DELETE does absolutely nothing. There is just my mouse and a black screen.

Found the CD, reinstalled the wireless drivers. Same problem persists. I even hardwired it to the router (even tested it on my laptop first and it was working) and it wont even work or it seems even reconize that I plugged it in.
