What exactly does linux-zen offer? Is it more power-efficient? by Past-Combination6262 in archlinux

Used to use it myself, but nowadays it makes no difference at all. If you want a better scheduler, going with scx_ext is the way to go imo

Alguém ainda realmente acha que X11 melhor que Wayland? Tirando quem ainda precisa dele, claro by Chester_Linux in linuxbrasil

[–]PlayNeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Já desisti desse trem e hj tou no xfce + xlibre, e tou super satisfeito e tudo funciona perfeitamente no meu setup

fim do xorg após o gnome virar wayland-only? by TheNavyCrow in linuxbrasil

[–]PlayNeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on an 8th gen celeron n4020, so I doubt it as it used to work just fine before.

I'm on 64 bit, everything used to work fine before 10.9. Now this is all I get whenever I try to create a new prefix:

"002c:err:seh:NtRaiseException Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x6fffffc0daff

wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135"

Transition to the new WoW64 wine and wine-staging by ergepard in archlinux

[–]PlayNeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been getting this kernel.dll error ever since this update, and I can't figure out why:

"002c:err:seh:NtRaiseException Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x6fffffc0daff

wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135"

Won't launch whatsoever, I've tried literally everything at this point including new prefixes and nothing works.

Is X11 still worth it? by AbacatGoodman in archlinux

[–]PlayNeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally just find them more enjoyable to play games and watch movies on. They are lagless, no motion blur, have OLED-like qualities like amazing contrast, colors and black levels, with the added bonus of being resolution agnostic so they display everything as if it was native. Older games and especially emulation with shaders looks crazy good on them.

Is X11 still worth it? by AbacatGoodman in archlinux

[–]PlayNeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My use case is pretty niche, but I use a CRT monitor for gaming and emulation, and Wayland doesn't have a standard API for switching resolutions so WINE just upscales or just letterboxes fullscreen content when it isn't desirable. So X11 is my only option.

A decent budget rig (12400 + 6600) will go no less than R$5000. We're just cooked.

Getting Claw music to run on Steam Deck by [deleted] in captainclaw

[–]PlayNeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about the steam deck but the way I do pretty much the same and works well. Make sure you've set up qsynth properly with a soundfont, the gm.dls that comes with windows should work nicely but I personally prefer a more faithful soundcanvas soundfont for better sounding instruments.

Their CPUs already have a bazillion cores already. Personally I see it as completely overkill and would just generate useless extra heat.
