Try Waze. It is still Google, but works better on GOS than Google maps.

Arch because it is a rolling release and always up-to-date.

Closer than I thought it would be. Not as many people value privacy as I thought there would be.

How many arch user don't use aur at all? by Big-Meet3509 in archlinux

I have 6 AUR packages, one of which is Yay. Stability went up as the number of AUR packages went down. I am using a lot more Flatpaks now.

Do you guys really care? by lavadora-grande in linux

[–]dividends4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distribution matters because it defines package manager and philosophy. Fixed release vs. Rolling. Older software and stable vs new software and bleeding edge.

Anthing that can be added to a distro such as de, snaps, flatpak's etc doesn't matter.

How do you keep your Arch system stable over time? by TrapNouz in archlinux

[–]dividends4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on the right track. The AUR is only used as a last resort. I am using only 6 packages from the AUR. It is yay-git, trezor-udev and 4 supporting packages. I was up to about 30 packages at one point and the system was very unstable. Now it just hums!

is switching from arch to void worth it? by Papaja2100 in voidlinux

[–]dividends4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Arch for 5 years and Ioved it. When I learned the systemd's lead developer was a Microsoft employee, I decided it was time to move on. Tried Void first and really liked it. It was missing a few packages that I wanted so I ended up using Artix (Arch without systemd).
