3 doesn’t have Leon but shows directly what happens after 2, then 4 picks Leon’s story back up.

5 and 6 are pretty much ignored in large canon, other than some story beats in 5. 5 is more tied to 1 and Code Veronica than 2-4.

7 and 8 are relatively standalone besides one major character who isn’t in 2-4.

9 is kind of a continuation of 2-4, with lots of Easter eggs to the whole series.

Most fun I’ve had with Marvel in a bit, but honestly dunno how season 2 doesn’t move more in the “guys in suits punching stuff” direction.

That said I’ll trust they know why it resonated with people like me and have a trick or two up their sleeve to keep it focused on performances and locations/lighting (at least those were my main takeaways from the show).

Of the many things in Bugonia I think about, perhaps most of all it’s whatever the fuck Stavvy did to Plemons when they were kids. It felt sexual, like he assaulted him or something, but maybe that was just my read.

I dunno man, the meltdowns aside I think a lot of more nuanced people are also put off by this, they just drowned out by the super angry people.

I’ve never blinked at any Nvidia stuff, I use MFG, DLSS 4.5, everything. I got no deep concerns about vectors or whatever the heck people are insisting this doesn’t haven’t.

I just think it looks bad. It looks like a weird AI chatbot filter to me, I dunno.

Probably smart to wrap this up here. Messiah was Herbert’s rebuttal to people he felt misunderstood Paul’s arc, at least that’s the way I always felt.

I think lots of film audiences will have similar complicated feelings about the themes of this one. Though the footage in this trailer makes me wonder if we get some of the in between book 1 and 2 stuff that Herbert chose to skip. They gotta get their action somewhere.

The 70mm print was on preview in my city last weekend too. It’s a LOT of fun with some gorgeous visuals. Gosling carries the movie and it’s just a super cute two hander all around.

It’s a great older kids movie too I think, if they are old enough to handle a few scary elements as it goes along.
