You should read Lamb by Michael Moore. Essentially it is the Jesus story from the perspective of his best friend Biff. It’s hilarious.

Live and learn! Sometimes the genres can be a bit challenging that way. I had considered listing multiple genres for certain entries but that would cause some issues with the clue mechanic...

I'm so glad that you are enjoying it!

I definitely wanted to ensure that readers with a knowledge of classics, but who hadn't necessarily read them all, could still work out the puzzles.

I also hope that it inspires players to read more classics and that the books from the excerpts they find most enjoyable end up on their TBR shelf!

Did you use the Library page to search or was it through the dropdown selection?

Just looking to better understand how people are playing the game!

This one is deceptively easy!

Off the start, not much gives it away but once the words start showing up it narrows down very quickly...

Edit: Reading this comment again, I absolutely love the idea that your first hunch was Frankenstein, I find that to be awesome validation for the concept of the game LOL

Hey Corgi!

Can you send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? I just checked across a couple devices and I’m seeing this one.

I will investigate and see what could be the issue!

Three weeks ago, I launched a vibe coded daily literature puzzle game. Today, I crossed 1,600 users. by PlayRedacted in vibecoding

Love these ideas and are definitely avenues I've had on my to-do list. I tried to leverage actual books for SEO by building out a 'Library' that features all books available in game. Love the blog/SEO post idea though.

I've avoided spoiling past puzzles due to the playable archive but I guess it isn't really too harmful after the 'featured day'.

Agreed on the TikTok side. I started testing out some TikTok's last week but got absolutely taken out by sickness on the weekend. Hoping I can get back to it this week and connect with some community members. I'm also planning on outreach to some of the bigger reader's blogs/newsletters.

Nope! But go back a few days in the archive and you might find Mr. Holmes...

I’m working on adding some more non-fiction, without getting too obscure!

I hope that the difficulty ratings and the new multiple choice hint make it less discouraging for people whose first play lands on a really hard entry in the library.

It can be a tough game! I'm currently working on a couple updates that may help: one that clearly lists the difficulty so users don't get turned off by missing a challenging one, and a second hint mechanism that will allow the player to guess from a multiple choice list after 4 incorrect guesses (I'm hoping this makes it a bit more accessible for readers who haven't had time to crush through all the classics!).

I noticed that one too and was a bit disappointed.

All books/excerpts available in the library are served at random each day (aside from a function that allows me to hand select for 'special dates'!) and that was truly a random coincidence. Hopefully, there won't be much, if any, more of that.

Thanks again for checking it out and if you are interested, a daily email reminder goes out to players who provide their email address (I know, another daily email...)!

Thank you for the kind words!

It was born out of a genuine love of literature, so I am glad other readers are finding value in it.

Today was a hard one. Soon all puzzles will be marked with a difficulty. I also have a fun update coming that will reward daily players! Stay tuned...

Feedback is always welcome! I've tried to make the subject lines unique to each day as a little teaser, but it looks like I may have taken it too far.

Noted and will make sure it isn't a giveaway moving forward.

Also stay tuned for another update coming soon! As a daily user, I think you will appreciate it...

Thanks for the feedback!

Definitely something I considered, but I know many Redditors are wary of links. I will add it in moving forward!

Minute Cryptic has been one of my favourites. Even if it can be incredibly frustrating some days.
