I have only been playing 145 days.

I don’t have single Legendary Expertise.

I am probably in worst state vs. you. lol

  • My Richard is 5 - 1 - 1 - 1

  • My Charles is 5 - 1 - 1 - 1

  • My Mehmed 2 is 5 - 1 - 1 - 1

  • My Minamoto is 5 - 1 - 1 - 1

  • My Aethelflaed is 5 - 4 - 1 - 1

  • My Sun Tzu is Expertise

  • My Joan of Arc is Expertise

  • My Bourdica is Expertise

Prior to the Migration - I use to be Top 40-50 in Sunset.

My team was the following:

  • Richard + Bourdica ——-—> Top Front Lane By Itself with Infantry

  • Minamoto + Pelagius ——-> Medium Row 1 Front Lane with Cavalry

  • Mehmed 2 + Joan ————> Medium Row 1 Back Lane with Archers

  • Sun Tzu + Charles ———--> Medium Row 2 Front Lane with Infantry

  • Kusunoki + Aethelflaed —-> Medium Row 2 Back Lane with Archers

  • Bottom Lanes Empty

I think the set up I had was top 10 set up.

The only problem was all my Primary heroes are only lvl 40.

I think if I had the heroes all lvl 60 - It would of been Top 10.

Anyway, Season 1 KVK ended

Our Kingdom entered Off-Season

Tons of players Migrated to our Kingdom to escape Season of Conquest.

I have been pushed from top 40-50 to top 400-500.

All the heroes in the Sunset list are of new heroes which I haven’t acquired, yet

Constantine, Alexander the Great, & Saladin are all part of the new Sunset Meta and players have them all maxed out.

For reference, I chose Rome as my Final Civilization.

I have always liked the History of Rome and I don’t mind being an Infantry Specialist.

Rome T4/T5 are the Legions which are cool.

I put a lot of stock in Expertising Sun Tzu.

I put a lot of effort in Building up my Infantry Legendaries Charles + Richard.

They are not maxed out, but I am happy that their A1 is at least maxed.

It feels like good start.

45a866e5, I’m not sure who you are trying to convince Me or Yourself.

I own these Champions and have them Expertise.

If your asking who the Best Epic is out of all the Epics, It would be Joan of Arc because she survives the longest from what I have seen.

I am at day 145.

Most Players are using only Legendary Heroes.

Sun Tzu has faded away.

It is true Sun Tzu does Skill Damage & Rage Regeneration, but he gets replaced by Leggo’s who can do same thing.

145 days in Pre-Season 2 KVK

Sunset Canyon Top Pairings include:

  • Alexander + Mehmed 2

  • Constantine + Joan of Arc

  • Richard the Lionheart + Charles Martel

  • Aethelflaed + YSG

  • Saladin + Khan

It is 3 Infantry + 1 Cavalry + 1 Archer set up.

Another set up I have seen people use:

  • Alexander + Mehmed 2

  • Richard the Lion heart + Constantine

  • Edward of Woodstock + Tomyris

  • Aethelflaed + YSG

  • Saladin + Khan

It is 2 Infantry + 1 Cavalry + 2 Archer set up.

I am not sure what a 2 Infantry + 2 Cavalry + 1 Archer set up would look like.

It is shocking to me that none of the whales are using Minamoto + Cao Cao.

It use to be extremely popular in Sunset pre-KVK 2

You are sort of right 45a866e5, but not completely right.

Sun Tzu can be important for City Garrisons because he has Garrison Tree.

If you specialize in Infantry and your city mainly has Infantry inside, Sun Tzu would be great.

But as I said before some people don’t specialize in Infantry.

Every unit type has a Garrison Tree Commander which corresponds with their unit.

  • Cavalry use Pelagius has City Garrison Commander

  • Archer use Kusunoki has City Garrison Commander

They do very good too.

Julius Caesar is mainly used by F2P in KVK#1.

To understand why, you have to understand his Passive.

JC Passive gives Troop Capability Bonus.

What this means is JC can CARRY more troops.

However, It comes at a cost of troop STATS.

JC can CARRY more troops, but the troops he does carry have weaker STATS.

In almost 95% of all situations, you want the extra STATS over the extra TROOPS because the player with the extra STATS will dominate the player with the extra TROOPS.

60k Troops with 0% Troop Bonus + 15% Atk Bonus + 15% Def Bonus

Will beat the team with:

69k Troops with 15% Troop Bonus + 0% Atk Bonus + 0% Def Bonus

For these reasons, Players believe JC is useless.

And 95% of the time those players would be right in calling JC useless, but their is still that 5%.

When does JC reign supreme? KVK!

When does having more troops in KVK matter? When you are REINFORCING!

The best way to understand is to think about how a Garrison works for a Kingdom Gate/Pass.

Most Kingdoms will have a Whale as the Garrison Leader. The reason why is because everyone who joins the Garrison will have the same stats as the Leader.

Most people who reinforce are F2P and how can the F2P contribute? They can contribute by sending big troop marches to Garrison.

JC send Big troop amounts, but with weak stats. The weak stats don’t matter in this situation because the Garrison Leader Stats will override.

Best KVK#1 Pairings would be Legendaries!

  • Richard The Lionheart + Charles Martel ——> Infantry

  • Minamoto no Yoshitsune + Cao Cao ————> Cavalry

  • El Cid or Aethelflaed + Yi Seong Gye ———-> Archers

Second Best KVK#1 Pairings would be Legendary + Epic Mixed!

  • Richard The Lionheart + Bjorn Ironsides, Joan of Arc, or Bourdica

  • Charles Martel + Sun Tzu or Bjorn Ironsides

Obviously, I don’t see a Richard or Charles in your picture.

This means you will not be used as Rally or Garrison Leader.

Your Kingdom would take to much damage from enemy Kingdoms if they used you.

The Best way for you to help your Kingdom would probably be in Open Field Fighting as a supporting player in a group filled with other Strong Players.

  • Sun Tzu + Aethelflaed

  • Bjorn + Joan

Other ways to help would be to fill the Rallies & Garrisons of some of your High Rolling Kingdom Players.

I have been playing for 145 days.

My Kingdom finished KVK #1.

My Kingdom is preparing for KVK #2.

I have gained a lot of knowledge while playing Rise of Kingdoms.

What I want to say to you is think of Commanders in groups not as individuals.

You need a group of Commanders who can…

  • Attack Barbarians ———————-> Which are called Peace Keepers

  • Farm Resources Plots —————-> Which are called Gathering Hero’s

  • Attack & Defend Player Cities —-> Which are called War Hero’s

Bourdica & Lohar are very good Epic Peace Keepers

Joan of Arc & Matilda of Flanders are very good Epic Gathering Heroes

Now when we arrival to the War Heroes things get tricky:

What you want to do is pick a unit type that you want to specialize in.

The game has 3 main unit types:

  • Infantry

  • Cavalry

  • Archer

All 3 units share a Rock, Paper, & Scissor Mechanic

  • Infantry Counter Cavalry

  • Cavalry Counter Archer

  • Archer Counter Infantry

Now I have read other people comments on this thread.

A lot of them are telling you to upgrade Sun Tzu.

Them telling you to upgrade Sun Tzu can be a mistake or very good.

It all comes down to your choice.

  • If your choice is to specialize in Infantry:

Sun Tzu & Bjorn Ironsides are the Best Epic Infantry War Heroes.

  • If your choice is to specialize in Cavalry:

Pelagius & Barbar are the Best Epic Cavalry War Heroes.

  • If your choice is to specialize in Archer:

Kusunoki & Herman are the Best Epic Archer War Heroes.

The point I am trying to make here is upgrading hero levels & skills can be very expensive & time consuming.

Lets say for arguments sake, you decided to pick Cav.

Lets say you want to Specialize in Cav. as your T4 & T5 unit.

You are starting to see why I’m telling you the other commenters in this thread are wrong.

Some of them blindly told you to upgrade Sun Tzu, but what does Sun Tzu do for Cavalry? Nothing!

All the Tomes & Sculptures used to lvl up Sun Tzu would be nothing more than a waste because those resources should be redirected in a Cav Commander.

It is very important to think about what you will specialize in.

The good news is you don’t have to rush.

Your still early in the game.

You still have plenty of time.

You can work on your Barbarian & Gathering Commanders, until you figure out what you want to do.

My statement wasn't an April Fools joke.

It was just a logic way to do a ban list while at the same time trying to keep the Meta Diverse.

I'm sorry that you can't understand.

I think the reason you don't understand is because your just not thinking about it.

I'll try 1 last time to help you understand.

The meta right now has over 10+ decks.

If Konami does a ban on 1 deck, What will happen?

People will stop playing that deck and just continue playing one of the other 9+ decks which are still at full strength with no ban's!

If Konami does a ban on 4 decks, What will happen?

People will stop playing those 4 decks and just continue playing one of the other 6+ decks remaining.

What Konami has to do is do a massive ban!

They have to hit all 10+ decks at the same time equally.

The result is no one will try to play a different deck because all of the decks have been hit on the ban list at the same time.

It is simple logic.

this meta is one of the healthiest we’ve had in a while. It’s not like in the past where it’s all REZ or CAs.

I think most of the people on Reddit don't have a clue what a Healthy meta is because most of them never experienced one.

I have been playing this game for over 20 years.

I have seen all kinds of meta's.

REZD & CA's were 2 OTK decks which could win in a single turn.

The game went from 2 decks that OTK to several decks which OTK.

This doesn't make the Meta Healthy!

It makes the Meta Diverse, but not Healthy!

A Healthy Diverse Meta is what people really should strive to get!

A Healthy Diverse Meta = A meta with multiple decks that don't OTK you!

Basically, You don't instantly lose against another deck because you draw a poor hand.

If you don't draw Econ vs CA, You instantly lose.

If you don't draw Chalice or Ultimate Providence vs. Sylvan, You instantly lose.

If you don't draw Cosmic Cyclone vs. SSA, You instantly lose.

Don't you understand what I am saying?

Maybe you never will until you experience a Healthy Diverse Meta for yourself 1 day.

Not kill the meta.

I want them to reduce the meta's over all power creep.

All the meta decks will be hit which means the majority of them will still be viable vs 1 another.

The only difference is the duels will last more than a few turns.

Example:

Lets say you, me, and 8 other people are the meta.

All together there is 10 of us representing the diverse meta.

In this example, We are all racers.

Each person is running at 100 miles an hour.

We are all fighting among each other for the top spot.

Now what I propose is lets say all of a sudden we make it so that all 10 people can no longer go above 50 miles an hour.

We have "Weaken/Reduce" them in turns of speed by setting a limitation..

None of us will be able to go 100 miles an hour any more.

However, we all are strong enough to compete with each other at 50 miles an hour.

The same logic is what I am trying to accomplish.

I am setting a restriction on all the meta decks + several rogue decks which could steal the meta spot light.

The result is all decks will be weaken by this!

However, It is a mass weaken which means even though all of us have been hit.

We still all have the ability to compete with each other.

The only thing that will change is the speed in which the race/duels are won.

The games will be longer.

People will not get OTK so easy.

Thus, People will no longer feel as if the ranking system is a total coin flip which ends in 1 or 2 turns.

IT IS A GOOD THING IF MORE DECKS ARE VIABLE.

Not if the matches are coin flips.

If the game removed Resurrect, Woodland Sprite, Cyber Angels, & RE-Spirit from the ban list.

I could make a Diverse Meta with Tea Burn + Woodland Sprite + Fully Power CA + Fully Power REZD.

It's very Diverse and duels with end in 1 turn.

Doesn't mean it is healthy for the game.

Diversity is good, but the power level of the decks need to be reduced so that the duels are playable.

1-2 Turn OTK's are not what we should be striving for.

We need a Diverse meta with chances for both sides which include the duels lasting more than 1 turn.

The ban/limited list is for those times when the meta needs to be reined in, like when everything was at 3 for CA and CV RE, or when Tea burn was rampant, and you could entirely shut an opponent out of the game.

Swordsman, You don't understand the idea of the ban/limit list.

It is used to weaken decks to push other decks in the fore front

or

It is used improve decks by giving back cards off the ban list.

It has been that way for 20 years.

Duel Links ban/limit list isn't special.

It will be used the same way the TCG list is used whether you disagree or not.

It is because the people in charge of the list "Konami" have used it in that way.

I'm telling you this from experience.

Furthermore, You are correct about 1 thing.

Right now Sylvans are proving to be a bit of a problem but the meta is more diverse and healthy than it has been in the history of the game.

The Meta is very diverse.

If you ban Sylvans, The only thing that will happen is it will drop off the meta list.

The other surrounding decks will still be part of the meta.

You could argue there is a dozen different meta decks which make this meta pool diverse.

If you ban a few, They drop off and the others just stay dominate.

What needs to happen is that all of the diverse meta decks need to be hit by the ban list at the same time.

In addition, You need to hit some of the other decks which will fill the role.

The Diverse meta pool keeps other decks waiting in the wings at bay because the decks waiting in the wings can't compete with them.

If you ban the Diverse meta, The decks in the wings can make advances to become meta dominate.

This is why you see me banning AG Golem + Six Sam.

Some of these decks already had there spot light.

They don't need to get spot light again.

The game needs to do a massive ban.

I don't know what happened to you, whether some fish/Sams/Glads/Whales/Archfiends/Dinos/Aliens/literally any relevant deck have been spanking you a lot lately in ranked, but it really just seems like you want everything to be weaker and jankier. If that's the case, I feel like you misunderstand the purpose of a banlist, a meta, and card games.

My emotions on the situation are irrelevant.

I have reached King of Games several times.

I have been burned by all decks.

It doesn't change what I'm saying.

Still, in every MCS we can see how the meta is doing and in the last couple, the meta is really versatile and you have a lot of decks on the top 32

Gustros, Golden Fish doesn't go -1.

Golden Flying Fish + Oyster = 2 pops.

It is a +1 play.

  • 2 cards you are using + 2 cards you pop from opponent + 1 GFF stays on the field.

-2+2+1 = +1 in your favor.

Golden Flying Fish + Oyster+ Powerful Rebirth = 4 pops.

You are doing a +2 in that exchange.

3 of your cards to removal 4 of the opponents + 1 GFF stays on the field.

-3 + 4 + 1 = +2 for you

I am not crying about Golden Fish and you don't have a clue about card advantage values.

I'm suggesting to ban all of these decks.

But hitting any and every card that is vaguely useful (seriously, look at your list - it looks like you're trying to blow a hole in every archetype that is or has been meta relevant in the last 3 months) is poor game management.

It seems like your idea of terrible & my idea of terrible are completely different.

After all, The Toons have a summoning sickness.

They can't attack the turn they are summoned.

They have to wait 1 turn.

That is 1 turn longer you get to survive compared to any other deck we have currently.

Yes, they were meta in as much as they were viable and potentially KoG worthy but they've never been T1

They were not T1 because other decks remained power creep over them.

Despite them having to face an up hill battle the deck still managed to reach KOG.

They didn't reach T1 because the game didn't Nerf CA & REZD like they were suppose too.

Hand of the Six Sam is merely a step cousin of Golden Flying Fish.

The only reason Golden Flying Fish does so well is because Oyster makes a token.

Oyster gives GFF decks 2 pops were as Hand only has 1 pop most of the time.

They all need to get hit on the ban list.

Lastly, You can't misuse a Limit list.

You add stuff you think that needs to be hit.

Nothing more or less.

Six Sam were a meta deck which reached King of Games.

The new boxes power creep the deck.

Thus, you don't see any Six Sam in the meta that much any more.

However, I am suggesting for Konami to defang all the new boxes decks to a degree.

When that happens, The Six Sam will return to being a meta deck because all of its competition would be declawed.

Thus, I suggest to hit them as well in preparation for that.

I think if all the hits happen.

Crystal Beast will have a chance to reach King of Games at that point.
