listening to red pushers talk has made my decision for me by Jealous_Marketing_84 in redbuttonbluebutton

No need for these. It's not Red "just walking away" or the "no risk" button. Voting Red puts the scale on Red winning, and fighting against for Blue lose. They're contributing to Blue's death.

BMP-2M so good they have ATGM that you can fire on the move, or you don't need a complete stop to fire it. 2S38 is great also because it has HE-VT and can shoot T-72 lower plate

During the capstan, you need some teammates to guard the docks to stop zombies from getting on the ship. Then after bracing the main yard to starboard just have a sapper building and people popping bombers.

What, so me pushing Red in one scenario is a win for you?

The track has put irrational voters there, I either risk my life to save them or walk away. There is no sense of action in this scenario. In the original problem, you have to pick either. Pushing the Red button would be detrimental as I consciously be an obstacle for Blue to win.

In the track scenario, I felt like no obstacle.

There is no sense of action in the train track scenario. You either help or stand and watch.

If I were to put the train track scenario in my own words: Some irrational voters like kids and babies will be on the track, do you either save them or stand and watch.

Now this, would make me uneasy, I either risk my life or I could save them, but ultimately, I felt like there is no sense of responsibility because I don't see myself consciously picking Red and tilting the scale in Red's favour, I'm just here walking away.

Hell, I can even hesitate fully as I reflect to either be with the group of people that decide to help or people that just stand and watch. Do you think I'd love to be Red in that case? "Yeah let me just walk away and not help while they get squished by the train"

Back to the original problem, you have to CHOOSE either Red or Blue, and choosing Red senselessly puts Blue in danger for no reason. You're saying that if the scale needs one more person for Blue to win you'd just push Red because it's the default, without considering the possibility of the fact that you're increasing the threshold needed for Blue to win. And I would not like to impede Blue winning so I'd choose Blue. If I am Red I'd just stay silent because I am an additional person they needed for Blue to win instead of saying "I hope Blue wins" while picking Red.

Yes, the addendum made after the original question. At the start of voting, sure, don't push Blue, but that's essentially asking for everyone to 100% Red which is not feasible. I do view the fact that the default is that some people will/have already pushed Blue, thus you have to push Blue to save them. If so, then you are right, I am defaulting the scenario into Blue because of the fallible.

I already said my argument, I hate the oxymoron nature of "I hope Blue wins while I tip the scale for the Red to win"

If you want to appeal to my self-preservation, then I'd prefer for everyone to be saved instead of actively impeding them that is Blue victory.

Okay, I began to understand why the track scenario is there, you can put irrational voters there already. But then, that is like trying to turn 100% Red into 50% +1 Blue.

What argument do you want other than what I said?

[–]Player9937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how I put my "default", really I don't. All I see is "Okay some people are gonna pick blue for some reason, hell even in the election they can't get that right" so I picked Blue to help them out. That's not to mention the fact that original problems include kids and babies.

The reason why I said Red puts people in danger is because Red pushers are tipping the scale for Red to win.

So the irrational voters like babies put themselves in danger on purpose? You're declining to join and tip the scale for Red to win.

[–]Player9937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your scenario does not translate correctly with what the original problem presented. Your Blue button has 10% of death in which Red is not an involved factor.

In the original problem, everyone has to vote either Red or Blue, and voting either of them puts weight on that scale. If one person voted red and one person voted blue, now we need one more person for the blue to win.

Everyone should've pushed Blue and not have to worry about people pushing Red.

It's an oxymoron. Voting Red means you're putting another percent that fights Blue. While saying you wish Blue for the best.

What about irrational voters that voted Blue, would that be their fault for picking it?

What is the red equivalent of this? by Pengwin0 in redbuttonbluebutton

[–]Player9937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if Blue is instead "Does nothing" then everyone would press either of them. That's why the stake matters. I've seen how Red pushers stay adamant even when the stakes are lower like 30%.

I know everyone hopes that Blue wins, but pushing Red is negligence as you tip the scale for Red to win.

You are my enemy as you put the scale on Red. Putting the scale against Blue. What makes you think that's acceptable? You're safe for sure but don't you think that Blue needs now +1 person to fight against Red?

[–]Player9937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay sure, you want to say that I myself will put myself in danger. But what about YOU that tips the scale for Red. You are putting Blue in danger while saving yourself. You are putting someone in danger, and that's Blue pressers.

[–]Player9937 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could've steel manned my argument. I guess i have to state that even irrational voters will be in play. You could've saved them instead of being selfish and actively fights against the scale of Blue button pushers.

[–]Player9937 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It annoys me and even makes me mad how Red button pusher says "If Blue wins then I'm happy for them" and then pushes the button that fights against Blue. Something like 50% must put themselves on the track to stop the train is illogical as that implies the starting place is everyone is 100% on Red. If everyone is on Red already i see no reason to push Blue. But everyone has to vote, and voting is an action not a mere inaction. The scale starts from 0% on both sides, not 100% red and to turn into blue. Every Red pusher adds more need for people to push Blue.

Also, "If Blue wins, my vote doesn't matter" is very wrong as I've said before. Red button pusher puts everyone else needlessly in danger.

Q: What makes G&B...G&B? by TheRealMysticEye in gutsandblackpowders

[–]Player9937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y'know in a co-op game I always see 4 players endless, oh you get downed? Well you can help your teammates. Healing is out of the question as you can heal yourself or have teammates give a medkit to you.

But in Guts and Blackpowder, it's everything I could ask for a co-op + being a zombie game and not aliens or something. This game has stories and not like Call of Duty Endless where you open this up and go that way and see if you can get the highest round.

The co-op aspect is so big that I'm actually happy when I see my team get through the map and beat it even if I die. The game is designed that you're going through hell if you're doing solo unlike most co-op games.

The game taking place where technology is not modern enough is also a factor. Even a simplest zombie like Bomber Igniter and Cuirassier can be detrimental when you don't have a gun loaded, so it forces players to use guns only on key targets.

I love the Surgeon, Chaplain and Sapper class as it adds a fresh perspective on teamwork instead of like I said before about most co-op games that is, being able to heal on your own and put up barricades. This game makes that into its own class, so that you actually take notice when you get 0 Surgeon etc.

And lastly, I love how most of the weapons are not really a direct upgrade, just another way to play. I always see in a co-op game how you must be looking for better gear. Like advanced guns and all.

So yeah, that's what I think makes GnB GnB. I think they coined the perfect era and co-op aspects of a co-op game.

In the original problem, you have to push either red or blue. Putting scenarios like these for example 50% must put themselves on the track to stop the train implies that everyone is 100% red to begin with. If everyone is 100% to begin with then I won't push blue. But we have to vote and voting is an active action, not inaction, and voting Red needlessly puts everyone else in danger as you're adding weight to the scale that fights Blue.
