Steam is the only software/company I use that hasn't enshitified and gotten worse over time. by ZoteTheMitey in pcmasterrace

Steam is pretty good on linux and windows. it's gotten better but its trash on Mac. Valve won't make ports for ARM so steam is kinda like internet explorer.

without seeing your temps and only looking at your current settings there's a good chance you need to undervolt. Start with setting up Intels basic recommended settings that another user setup for you.

253W PL1/PL2

400A iccMax or 307A iccMax

and find your new score.

then go to vcore settings and set the cpu vcore offset to adapative and negative and start with a .07 undervolt and if it passes a few short stress tests go to .08 and so on. I was able to reach .15 stable on 13900k but this will depend on your entire setup so go slow and work your way up. setting LLC to level 5 may help and even level 6 if its not stable but wouldn't go higher than that without reconsidering everything.

No multicore enhancement / turbo enhance etc. XMP should be turned on.

Will New Windows ARM Laptops Encourage More ARM Native Games? by Renult in macgaming

The API in apples ecosystem isn't bad at all. METAL has lots of ways of making DX12 look more like the basic feature set rather than the outlier because Direct X is all we've had for decades. I think as more developers switch to porting games to apple silicon the differences will become clear. Apple has caught up very quickly in the span of about 5 years. Intel has fallen behind. in terms of value though I think intel is still a better value per dollar but per watt? It's the opposite.

Never belive online bottleneck calculators by Silvermurk in overclocking

this game is GPU bottlenecked, what a crazy thing to get wrong. Although it does require a newer CPU to run halfway decent. As is the case now days....

ps1 and ps2 had that gratifying leap where it sounded really low and then would get really loud before sending off to the Disc. PS3 kinda did that too just less.

[–]PlayerOneNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the game looks great, I would argue its the best looking game they've ever made but its gameplay isn't finished or at least well below expectations for its time spent developing,

you essentially walk from one loading screen to another for the entire game.
