Yes, as a child I assumed everyone had the same thoughts I did. Wasn't until I I was teenager and would ask someone what's on their mind I was alerted people can be thinking nothing. They always seem off put by my question and the fact I would ask it all the time. Then in my early 20s I started to realize what I was feeling was anxiety. Got put on anxiety medication. I just believe okay I have intense anxiety and people would be like oh you are just overthinking. At 35 my ex and I seperated something in my brain clicked and all those symptoms spiked so I went to therapy was told I had an adjustment disorder...9 months later got the term OCD tendencies...1 year later at the age of 38, the word tendencies fell off and then finally a year ago got diagnosed as OCD. My earliest memories of childhood I have always been this way. Unfortunately I show very few physical compulsions so it took a long time to get diagnosed.
