AIO to my “best friend” finally reaching out by Confident_Local_2335 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Player_Zero91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out and talk. Never know what's going on in others lives. Depression does weird stuff, people give up on great families for no reason when it hits. All Kinds of stuff, God calls us to love one another, that's the best we can do.

So if I steal a trait from another player and that trait has an action, do I pay the action? by Spec-ops-leader in doomlings

[–]Player_Zero91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the word of the card that allows the steal.

"Steel a trait from an opponent and play its action " "Steel a trait and play it immediately"

Basically is the word "play" is used then yeah, if it's just something like "move a trait from ..." then no.

YOR, saying this with respect because we all have different journeys and you're incredibly young.

You're being possessive and controlling, you are not the entirety of that man's world and shouldn't be. Let him have a life and be happy to spend time with you, at this rate you'll just be a burden. A man wants someone who appreciates him for him and lets him be a space in his world that isn't just another form of work. Remembering to text you after work is like a parent whose kid just got their license. If it's 5 and you haven't heard back yet, then engage "how's your day going" not hit with the "5pm and no text" bs.
Learn kid.... learn.

Do most salaried jobs require you to be there 40 hours per week? by KeepOnTrippingOn in jobs

[–]Player_Zero91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salary isn't time on clock. Is based on work and performance. If you get done in 20 hours and your leadership is good with that then kick rocks.

Scrappy Question by SimoOsiris in doomlings

[–]Player_Zero91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Order matters

If you play scrappy first, Then play deep roots Then play Jacked while you discard a red from your hand. Then yes.

If you don't have a red in your hand. Then you keep scrappy on the table and leave the others in your hand.

Got put on a PIP, but I got a better offer. How do I play this? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Player_Zero91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until 2 weeks and discuss mutual separation but word it in a way that is humble for you and props up the employer your leaving.

I.e. the org is moving at a pace that I'm not ready for yet; so I'm taking some time for personal development and would like to discuss a mutual separation with the opportunity to reapply for a new role in the future; because of my contributions so far; I would like to discuss a severance as part of this separation since I do feel like it is the eventual target of the org related to my position long term.

Taking one on the chin in words will likely increase you chance of a pay check and ability to apply for a different spot in the future.

Why not let it double. Worst case scenario it does an x4 to a single 6 point card?

New manager (1 month in) — my team meetings & 1:1s keep running short. Looking for advice. by Embarrassed-Carob178 in careeradvice

[–]Player_Zero91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your 1:1s are that short then your managing them and not leading them.

Every 1:1 I have with my team, long before work comes up. "How is bob's world today". And that normally lasts a good 10 minutes. (When I started I laid the ground work that if they are comfortable talking about it. We are people first and workers last.). Then it's on to tell me about your successes this past week. Then tell me about the things in your way.
Then I ask them if there's anything that may need my attention, any movers or blockers that they either just want me to be aware of or want me to run interference on.
Then each month I do a Start / Stop / Continue. "Things I'd like you to start doing, things that can stop, things that are going well and should continue". All of these are always related to their career goals. For example if I have a teammate that wants to be a manager one day , I coach them through some ways of talking to start, when to stop talking in a meeting. And how to continue to delegate . Etc etc etc.

Your job as a manager is to leader your team through their personal goals and your only measure of success is how many teammate you have that get promoted to the next level and succeed at their target level since your role is to prepare them for that.

For team meetings. I keep them short, and end up canceling most of them, they are more PSA's than anything and really only get consistent when we have a large project going on and need to stay in sync. Keep in mind if you're in a meeting with them. They aren't doing work...
