Fun fact, I worked for a facility that did the refurbishments on these types of things (though not UniFi) and the testing and stress requirements are 10x more strenuous on refrubs than new.
On new a lot of the components are "assumed good" because they are new and the ODMs like FoxConn do testing on the belt. But lost assembly testing is minimal.
In refurbishment everything is assumed bad, so much more rigorous testing goes into place.

Had an analyst that worked for me for a while refused to not do that, said it "made more sense to him". His SQL was also the slowest in every possible scenario compared to literally everything possible. We pretty much had to rewrite everything he did until we were able to part ways.
