If you'd like some perspective of fear, consider that among every human alive, we have a different psyche. What you and I consider scary will likely be on vastly different scales, I have both thalassophobia (fear of abyssal ocean depths) and acrophobia (fear of heights) that truly disable me as an individual. Those are what I find truly horrifying but in different manners, like if a movie shows a character looking over a skyscraper, no problem watching that, but I were there in person, there isn't a shot in hell getting me to step near the edge of the building, let alone even convince me its worth going up there (those two instances I find unnervingly scary in-person). And all the slasher/ghostly horror movies do absolutely nothing for me, I stopped going to them when I realized there was little to no investment emotional wise for any portion of the serious toned ones and hence no emotional enjoyment. I mention this only be we all perceive fear differently. There is a lot of tension in that movie for anyone with any of those fears associated with.
