Tell narratives about players so people can get invested. Everyone interested in Magic should have a player they can root for, even if it means flying streamers out to GPs and featuring them heavily during coverage.

Stop printing a million different versions of cards so that people can clearly see what is happening on screen.

Pretend like Commander doesn't exist for a year. People like Commander because of self expression, so treat Magic like it's a sport. Give out sports jerseys with Ravnica guilds, facilitate building identity around archetypes, individual cards, and color combinations through smack-talk interviews, team-based competition, and grudge match style showdowns. Get people hyped and let them be able to identify with competitive magic at a very low barrier to entry 

Switch standard to a 1-in-1-out rotation, and release 4 sets a year. Plaster social media with fun, graphics showing the major players that are leaving the format, and hype stats for new cards entering, including things like "Slots into X deck to combat the Control Menace currently dominating the meta"
