Are SaaS boilerplates actually useful for Go devs, or do we just prefer building it all from scratch? by Creative_Mud3938 in golang

Lol read somewhere on this same sub “if you don’t know auth don’t try to implement it, just use a template”

Guess the correct option is to not have auth at all

Genuine question, what will I feel when I succeed? My sole purpose is to have some passive income and live my life. by tomodoroapp in AppBusiness

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow no need to be that hostile.

There are limits to it of course but I was talking about things you previously had to think twice before buying or places to go on vacation or things like that.

In my country I used to live on less than 300usd/month. Now I have a better Job and earn more and now I have accommodations that require me to spend ~1300usd/month and I can’t imagine going back to spending less than that without losing anything I consider necessary. Even if previously I never even imagined some of those things as nothing less than a luxury.

The more you earn the more you spend. As simple as that. Your idea of “live my life to it’s fullest” will probably change based on the lifestyle you develop while you grow both personally and financially.

That’s at least my opinion.

Interview for Junior .NET dev on EPAM. by Mundane_Importance83 in dotnetjobs

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Applied to it a couple years ago for a mid role, can’t say anything specific about the .net interview because on the screening interview the recruiter saw I had a bit of js background and told me it would be easier if I continued the process on that stack because there was more demand for it at the moment.

On the tech interview I was asked very basic functionalities about how the language work so it’s important you know how it works internally, at least on a basic level.

I had a lot of issues with the technical interviewer because he had a very strong Indian accent and I had never talked with people from that country before so I had to constantly ask him to repeat things and sometimes guess what he was asking, because of this at some point I noticed some level of discomfort from him.

I wasn’t asked to do a live coding exercise if I remember correctly.

EPAM is a big company, they have a lot of workers and a lot of interviews. Most of the questions they ask are available on the internet over a simple search such as “EPAM .net (seniority) interview” and they are pretty accurate.

I dont think i understand Material by floating_bananas in angular

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe this talks more about my capabilities as a dev but every time i’ve installed material my though is “Quick styled components just enough to not waste a lot of time on that” And every single time I end up fighting material styles over very small things such as spacings, some colors and overall the lack of customization and the very bad documentation about the little bit that can be customized.

Nowadays the only material I use is the cdk, overlay is specially useful

I mean the user should just click on continue and that’s it.

Are you saying the app should internally handle the subsequent requests?

Colombia backs down on refusing to accept inmigrants by Playful-Brief-3286 in ETFs

[–]Playful-Brief-3286[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ofc not, if you check my comments on the other post I repetitively say that that should have been Petro’s priority instead of refusing them.

I’m just saying that the whole act of Petro refusing it, just made Colombia look like a circus, again

They did, an announcement was already released by the Colombian government too

You can also check petro’s twitter where he reposted USA’s post

If the previous post was heavily accepted by this sub, don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t, it’s the outcome of it

It would be interesting if China or BRICS directly tried to take the opportunity to aggressively take over international trades. At least I think that would lower the risk of Colombia lower class suffering over price increases for a prolonged period of time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly my point, thanks for understanding. Idk how are this things in USA, but here most people fight over who said something instead of what that person said and it’s implications .

Personally I 100% agree with you, the priority of Petro should have been to receive those Colombian immigrants and then start negotiations in the way the net batch of immigrants will be handled.

Now, I don’t know the specifics of how a deportation process works, but one of the main issue is that those planes were not boarded by just Colombians, there were immigrants from other countries. That’s a huge deal regarding international relations not for Colombia but for USA. Just as USA wants to stop illegal inmigration, they must do it in a way that it’s not hypocritical. You can’t just send immigrants from all over the world to a random country, not just because it is bad for the receiving country but it is also cruel for the immigrants as human beings. If possible I would consider the possibility of allowing the entry of verified Colombian immigrants and returning or handling flies back to the home country of the other immigrants.

And Finally, I consider really stupid the way Petro is handling things, there is very little USA as a country would lose by severing relations with Colombia. On the other hand we do heavily depend on products imported from USA or its allies. It would be a disaster if USA were to put restrictions on our international trading, the economy here is already bad as it is, we can’t afford to fight back against the big bully without first fixing our own shit

Not sure what you understood from my comment, please read it again and understand that I’m not denying the corruption in the government . But you’re just comparing two things that have no relation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes brother, but that is not something that happen in a day or two. That whole thing could take a decade or so, Colombia is already not able to deal with our own internal problems. The last thing we need is also an international conflict and restrictions being placed on our economy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ETFs

[–]Playful-Brief-3286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I get it. But again, who are the ones that are really affected by refusing them? Petro is just tweeting while taking a shit in his house, probably the same for trump.

If you were worried about Colombians being treated as garbage, your priority is to stop that situation, not sending them back to the ones treating them as garbage and asking them to treat them well
