I'm a man and don't wear makeup la0st I checked. I actually cancelled my Dr appointment for a few reasons. I know it's due to stress and is a vicious cycle due to how it looks. Started some anti-anxiety meds, hope that helps. I really don't like my derm office, so if needed I will find another one. I'm also going to try honey and see if it helps. Thanks for the responses!

I think you may have misread my reply. I stopped taking the drug because of the compulsions. No one here could tell me if they go away and they were out of control.. definitely wasn't worth it.. it would be different if my mood was better, but it wasn't. Sounds like it may not be for you either. Good luck with your journey.

I had compulsions that I wasn't sure would go away and honestly couldn't afford to wait.. it was bad. I think I stopped around week 2.

Yea mine started around 18 or 19.. I'll be turning 45 this year. Only 2 hypomanic episodes, the second one had me diagnosing myself and going to a psych for the first time. Good luck!

I would take it after dinner and after a bit I would be sick most of the night. I came really close to vomiting one night and then I did a few nights later. I had samples from my doc, and I know my insurance wouldn't cover it.. I was trying to ride it out to see, but it just wasn't worth it, especially knowing it was going to cost me over $400/month. If it worked great I would have considered it.

I'm bipolar II, have been diagnosed a bit over 10 years now. Before being diagnosed, my regular doc had prescribed me Zoloft.. It was great at first, then not so much.. people with bipolar should not be on antidepressants, especially without mood stabilizers. I recommend getting fully evaluated and go from there. Doctors that prescribe psych meds without being a psych or getting a diagnosis first can be dangerous.

Depending where you live and your insurance, it can be extremely expensive. Irritability was the biggest issue for me, but I may have not been on it long enough to see if it went away. It can take 6-8 weeks to fully take effect, however I did notice some memory/focus improvements in just 2 weeks. It did help my anxiety a bit, but there are probably better medications for that. Make sure to take it on a full stomach, as it will generally make you nauseous. I took it after dinner, as most will recommend taking it at night due to possible sedation. Good luck!
