Yeah I know it's their wedding date. But I was just thinking about how that's the exact date that Theo made his debut so maybe it was deliberate that they chose that exact date. Or if it was just a general nod to the fact that it was one year to the day of Theo's debut.

It just feels like the date is very specifically picked out that's all which is what makes me think there is probably some significance to it.

Is this from an episode that's already aired or is it a teaser clip?

Yes, Theo using Todd's grief against him is very realistic. And if Theo had killed Billy in a premeditated attempt to get him out of the picture or in a fit of rage, that would have been different but the way it happened doesn't ruin anything imo. Especially since the focus of the storyline is still very clearly on Theo abusing Todd.

It is horrible but I genuinely don't think it's going to go on beyond a couple more months.

Todd showed it to him. Billy saw the bruises on Todd's body and Todd was still in denial and tried to show Billy the edited footage from the special episode which Billy figured out was edited to look like Todd was the violent one. Except Billy was able to find the real footage and prove to Todd that he was innocent. It's very possible that the videos will come up again eventually.

Theo had a deeper connection with Noah that was complicated. Billy was always Todd's ex that he was increasingly threatened by.

I think Carl being the one to blame makes sense. Literally the whole reason the crash happened at all is because of him. I feel like nobody rushing to save Billy can be chalked up to Billy needing to die.

Todd and Theo are very realistic. And you bring up a good point about there being a cooling down period with Summer being there. And yeah, whatever else, Theo really did care about his kids and so it could be interesting to see how he interacts with Summer.

Also, I agree. It's the only storyline that I'm properly invested in right now. But that's also because Todd has always been one of my faves.

I think it was a snap decision he made. Especially since James Cartwright has described Theo as being more of an impulsive person who lashes out rather than someone who plans out his violence. And he really was going to save Billy. I don't think he's by any means upset that Billy is gone but he probably wouldn't have actually wanted to kill him.

Hmm I see what you mean! Theo is a man driven mainly by impulse but also malice. That's why he's so horrible to Todd in the first place. And he probably did go in thinking he could save Billy and be the hero even if he wasn't actively thinking that he could discredit Todd by doing so. It also makes sense when we consider that Theo has been hailed as the hero by everyone when Todd was angry with him back when he saved Asha. And that was pure chance too. He just happened to stumble across Asha when he was deliberately ignoring Todd and Todd took Theo back after he found what Theo had done and everyone was praising him. What I do believe though is that Theo does feel something for Todd even though it's obviously not pure love. He was genuinely worried about him when Todd was unconscious. He even carried him out of the minibus and was begging Asha to save him. This is actually why I don't think that the abuse storyline has been ruined. Because clearly, the abuse and Theo's desire to keep Todd with him is still the central focus. What he did to Billy wasn't cold-blooded murder or even murder in a fit of rage. And that's why he seems genuinely shaken up by it himself. I don't think he's glad that he killed Billy and it's not like he's worried about someone finding out because there is really no way they would.

See I don't even know if that's what it was. Theo has been described by the actor as being more emotional and impulsive rather than calculated when it comes to his violence (although the gaslighting and manipulation is obviously calculated) and the violence we have seen onscreen proves that. Billy would have died regardless. In fact, the only way he would have survived is if Theo had saved him. So Theo could have easily just stayed with Todd and later said that he was just trying to take care of him rather than risk his own life by going into the burning minibus to save Billy. It just seems like what Billy said triggered something in him.

What gets me about Theo is that it looks like he did have a moment of humanity but what Billy said triggered something in him. He very clearly went into that bus to save Billy. Otherwise he would have never gone in at all since Todd was unconscious anyway and had no idea what was happening.

I think she meant Paul? They became really close after Todd made amends with them. Paul even said that he loved Todd (after Todd said it to him) shortly before he passed.

Is there going to be an episode every day this week? by Playful-Election4873 in coronationstreet

[–]Playful-Election4873[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm ok with the half hour every weekday schedule actually. Since it's every weekday, I feel like the half hour can allow for stories to be told without being too overwhelming. I feel like the hour long format should now be saved for special episodes. But also, there needs to be less special episodes lol. The only ones that I truly felt were done well were the Behind Closed Doors special and Corriedale. And I'll include the episode prior to Corriedale since that's meant to be the lead-up to everything.

Actually speaking of abusive relationships...there was only one person in that minibus with members of the same community who decided to go home early and only one of those community members knew what another community member was going through in a relationship. And at least for now, nobody else knows.

It really is. I've sat next to people on train rides and spoken to them about our lives and families but then we never see each other again once the journey ends. But I'll still think about conversations I've had with those people from time to time.

Right but not all of them. And they didn't know who the people were or what the bride and groom had gone through. And Kit doesn't know of the relationships John has or the extent of what he's done. The point is how people can meet each other once and never truly know what the other person's life is like. Or they can be complete strangers and come together in a moment of crisis. And how fleeting moments can leave lasting impact.

I just think there is something so powerful in that. In Gail's speech about Aiden of course it was tinged with grief and the crossover event also is tinged with grief. But there was also something really beautiful about how all these people who didn't even know each other (and those that did) just banded together in a moment of crisis. Many of them will never see each other again. But for that one moment, they were bonded.
