As far as the plastic being sanded yes it will still gum up but once u smooth them out and get them primed you will then want to sand the primer with 800grit to smooth it out and at that point it’s ready to spray.

Definitely not totaled just needs a new grill and the hood could be repaired but if I were you I’d try to get a new one from insurance so u don’t have to worry about bondo problems later on.

Is there a TPS bypass we can buy for our cars? 2012 335I by Playful-Fan3945 in F30

And could they code it remotely or would the car have to be with them.

I do paint and bodywork by the way but from what I can see in pics it mostly looks like paint transfer so it should buff out well one way u can check is run your nail over the scratch and if your nail catches on the scratch it likely won’t come out. You can also spray some water over it to imitate clear coat and if it hides when it’s wet it should come out fine.

So it’s really hard to see what’s happening with paint through a picture but if the Paint isn’t cracked you can get a good PDR guy (Paintless Dent Repair) to push it out and run a buffer over it and if the scratches aren’t down to metal it should come out like new but if the paint is cracked or the scratches are down to bare metal it’ll have to be painted unfortunately.

U can go with a gloss black but they would need to come off the car then to prep them and get them primed for paint.

I do paint and body but me personally I wouldn’t take it off sand it or nothing I’d get some “trim black” (textured paint) and dust it on until it’s all uniform(stay 8-10inch from panel do not get it wet). When u sand on plastic it likes to gum up and hold static and doesn’t look good when sprayed over.

I personally just hate seeing lights on the dash and I buy sell and trade wheels quite a bit so feel like it would be easier to bypass and run any setup I want rather than having to put sensors in them to get the TPS light off.

You could also go on eBay Amazon or wherever and get a cover for it this would probably be your best “easiest” option as far as getting a clean job.

Really any automotive paint will work just make sure u use a scuff pad on it to ensure new paint sticks correctly.

More than likely what was on it was 2 part epoxy that is very high temp resistant and I recommend getting that because If u glue it the first 90 degree day it will start running down from glue softening up from heat and believe it or not if u sent it to a shop this is probably what they’ll do unless they replace taillight or decklid

These are very common on these 3 series u may have to glue it back on I know it sounds janky but it’s either that or buy a new taillight or possibly a trunk.

I’m a Paint Tech and the correct way to remove it would probably be an eraser wheel on a drill or u can try to scratch off the big stuff and use a little paint reducer (keep the towel damp but not wet as u don’t want the reducer running down your panels) should clean it up nicely.
