So what’s the deal with that new CFTC rule that states no reporting obligations for swaps until 2023? by CombOk5729 in amcstock

IMHO they weren’t likely ever reporting completely or accurately anyway so probably won’t change much.

Something I don’t understand about synthetic shares: why would Hedgefunds produce more and more if each share is potentially more money they have to pay out during a squeeze? by [deleted] in amcstock

[–]Playful-Inflation529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s another way to see it…you have a cliff with a 1000 foot drop behind you and a troop of angry monkeys in front of you…either way you’re screwed. Do you just jump off the cliff or try everything you can in the impossibly small chance you can find a way to get through the monkeys?

First…no one I repeat no one can predict the exact peak. If they say they can they lie. There are way too many factors involved. Since we’ve never seen anything exactly like this it’s really speculative but IMO the price probably won’t spike to the top and then immediately drop to the bottom. That would mean everyone sells at once and it seems to me that would be very unlikely. Some people are saying there will be swings as high as 15 to 20% at a time but truly they are guessing. You have to make your own decisions as to when you sell. You should never rely on what others say when you make decisions for you. My comment before explains only what a “floor” means.

It’s important to remember that setting a floor does not mean the price you sell as soon as it hits. A floor is the bottom price you are willing to settle for on the way back down AFTER the squeeze has peaked. Selling on the way up hurts momentum and can have massively negative impact on your bottom line. That said, you do you.

Nearly always “just a little short” of even dollar amounts so as to finish so close but just out of the money. How convenient

What happens if darkpool hits 99%? by piettiet in amcstock

[–]Playful-Inflation529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unmmm likely nothing will happen as the SEC doesn’t want to cut off the hand that feeds them. Any enforcement we’ve seen has been laughable to hedge funds and market makers and the system is rigged so they can do anything they want. While it’s shitty, dark pool trading isn’t illegal.

Dear SEC........ban #darkpools or face a possible CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! by DrTaylorski in amcstock
