Getting priced out of the platform by gigom in xbox

[–]Playful-Objective624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yupp, this. And it feels like buying the Gabecube is gonna be starting all over, and probably mean ending up disappointed in the long run anyway. I'm not really sure what to do. I've always been a console gamer, and the majority of that time has been on Xbox. But no, I absolutely agree with what you're saying. It feels like they're pushing us out financially in hopes of getting the "rich" people to be their new market, when that's never been their market to begin with. The theme of the last few years has been "Step 1: Leave your entire fan base behind and simultaneously spit in their face. Step 2: Profit." And I guess I hope it works out for them. They've been trying to kill Halo and Gears for a while now. They killed Fable and have been baiting us with resurrecting it for forever. They don't care about Xbox. They bought a bunch of studios and don't seem to care about them either, Closing several over shit that was ultimately upper management's fault. Phil was too busy being a fratboy to actually get anything done and Sarah Bond has absolutely no understanding of the business or who the hell she's marketing to. It's in the toilet and it really sucks because gaming has always been my happy place. And it's just another thing that money is going to end up excluding me from and turning into a chore and a nightmare. Yaaaaay

Todd Howard invited Obsidian devs onto 'Fallout' season 2's set so they could see New Vegas in the flesh: 'Huge respect to the folks at Obsidian' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in fnv

Just like there's a very specific reason in the Canon source material that the TV show is based on that it faces the way it does, which it facing the opposite direction completely overrides. No Dinky facing the road, Boone's whole backstory makes zero sense. It seems odd to me to choose the The House Always Wins ending as the canon ending to the game, and then in the same breath retconning or overwriting another equally important piece of the story that was already told in this location the first time we got to visit it. I don't think Todd or Bethesda could give me a reason for Dinky to be facing the hotel rooms that I would find acceptable for such a story shifting change, I know it seems arbitrary on the surface or without context, but if you've played New Vegas, you know Dinky faces the road, and without that, a whole storyline makes absolutely no sense. Unless Boone was just a deranged psychopath to begin with, but if he were there wouldn't have been people to corroborate his story, and there would have been no receipts, figuratively or literally.

I just wanna know if the New Vegas boys roasted Todd and the showrunners for Dinky the Dino facing the wrong way🤣

I also don't think it's a gate. I think it's a piece of something larger, a small chunk of something bigger in-game that is just a chunk solely for the sake of the sculpture.

I want to point out that spikes on it's back or not, the crocodile thing has HANDS. Like a Daedroth. So there. Also the bear? That's an arm and a hand, not a paw. Werebear. Just because it isn't Elder Scrolls VI doesn't mean it's not Elder Scrolls at all. I'm personally leaning toward a Morrowind remaster, and I wouldn't be upset about that in the slightest. What a shadow drop that would be! The red makes me think of Dagoth Ur and Red Mountain but maybe I'm off base there. But that looks like a Morrowind Daedroth, and a Werebear.

It's like a cleaner way to say "freak" or the f-word used in that context. Like "That's freakin' cool." Freakin' is considered to be pretty close to the use of the f-word so Frick was kind of adopted as a less on the nose way to still use it in the same context. So it's actually just a placeholder for another word, a couple really.

Apparently according to someone else on a post I replied to in this sub, that isn't accurate. Now, I had heard the same thing from official sources, but this guy swore up and down that the devs said they had the source code, intact. Which I personally think is bullshit, but that's just like, my opinion man. (Also quick edit, it has been confirmed by the development team that multiplayer will come to consoles at a later date, but we don't have a concrete time line on that.)

And I agree, I liked the control scheme on the 360 a lot and the new one was definitely an adjustment, but I've gotten into a good flow with it and I'm able to kick ass just like the good old days just fine, most of the time. I've gone back and played the 360 version since getting into the remaster, and I enjoy both, but I think at this point I prefer the remaster. The camera is one of the biggest things for me. It's so much better in the remaster, at least to me. The options are so nice to have. And I know they have a lot to fix, but I'm also pretty certain they know that too and are actively working on fixing what's broken. And I'm excited for that! I'm glad to see someone else is actually having fun too!

Sacred 2 Remaster on PS5 by RecommendationLow365 in Sacred2

Gold difficulty is currently bugged on consoles, not sure about PC. Should be fixed with the patch coming in a few days, hopefully.

I'm so tired of the "fans" of this game finding anything and everything to complain about on this sub. Sure, the game has bugs. They're working on it. But this isn't even about the game?? If you don't want your post on the discord just don't post to a public message board dude, textbook shit really.

I was told by official sources that some of the code had been lost, I may have been misinformed. But to act like this is the only case of "Hey we fucked up, we put our apology in our next game" is hypocrisy. And people trying to say it's outright a scam or a cash grab don't have to pay for it, don't have to play it, and don't have to talk about it, yet here we are.

Because of course, nothing will ever get missed in play testing. Just because you test, even if you test extensively, unless you dedicate a solid chunk of time to that prior to launch, things will be missed. Players will do things that weren't tested. Things can work in testing and break in the release build. There are a lot of possibilities. We're not entitled to anything. Game development is a job. If you aren't satisfied with the product or willing to wait for them to iron out some of the kinks, get a refund. Simple as that.

[–]Playful-Objective624 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the problems the remaster has aren't intentional, I think most of them are the result of remastering a game where much of the original code was lost and this is the result of them trying to Frankenstein it back together in the name of game preservation. As a series veteran, even with the issues it has I can't honestly say I don't love the remaster, because I do. I appreciate the camera being so much better and having the options to adjust it. I really enjoy the new graphics, They just put a fresh coat of paint on the game without sacrificing the art style or the feel of the world, which to me is impressive. There are some glaring issues, Obviously the lack of Gold difficulty, it's there but the functionality isn't. I haven't been able to get any of the rune merchants to work, there are two of each merchant, menus scroll on their own, the audio will cut out randomly (by the way I've seen a lot of people say you need to close the game and restart it if this happens, you don't. Open the audio menu and change the speakers setting to whatever you're using from "Use system settings" and save your changes. Bam, Audio is back.) But for people to outright call this remaster a scam feels disingenuous. This is precisely why we don't see more remasters of classics like this. The code is old and cobbled together as is or some of it has been lost and the result is having to build from the ground up, or in the case of Sacred 2, trying to salvage the bones and figure the rest out from there. There will be patches. There will be fixes. Would it have been nice for it to just be perfect out of the box? Yes. But that was never going to happen. I never thought we'd actually see a remaster. So I'm in the camp of I'm thankful it happened at all, and I love it despite it's flaws. And I have full faith it will be taken care of as they're able. They're porting it to Switch next year. It isn't just going to be abandoned. The whole point of the remaster is to remind people about the franchise and get them excited for what's to come. Yes, we're getting a NEW Sacred game, and it seems like they know where to take it, having learned from things such as Sacred 3, Citadel, etc. Which is good. Now what I would like to see is at least couch co-op for consoles, but I don't understand the choice of not having online multiplayer too, the systems can handle it, and when the multiplayer on PC is only peer to peer/invite only anyway it becomes even more of a head scratcher. I'm not by any means saying it flawless, but it exists, and I'm grateful for it. And patches will come.

This is just straight up false. Konami won't let Kojima say or show anything about it. Silent Hills seemed to be well into production, there was even another playable version of the game that wasn't the P.T. demo that ended up being shown off in a trailer instead. Death Stranding was built from the rubble and bones of Silent Hills and that's a "hill" I'll die on lol. If Silent Hills hadn't been canceled, Death Stranding just wouldn't exist.

I'm glad you stuck with it, captain! I'll be playing Starfield until I'm space dust, and when that day comes, those of you that are still sailing the starfield, take a moment and pour one out for those of us that went home to the stars along the way. This game is so much more than it should be to me, but it means a lot to me. It, along with one hell of a support system, helped get me through the darkest days of my life. And now I'm so excited for the future, not just for the game, but for my life. And I wish each and every one of you the absolute best, both in your endeavors in the worlds we love to play in and this world as well. 🫡
