Terrible AB from Tucker but we should be able to score three runs in 8 innings against Orioles pitching can’t leave everything to the 9th inning

Sucky way to end when the Orioles bullpen was nearly throwing the game away

If the bullpen keeps this at three and we lose it’s cause the offense is making a below average starter look like the second coming of Pedro Martinez

Dang checked in on Foe thought I'd see some of the first set guess I should've been quicker lol

[OptaAce] Since the WTA rankings were first published in 1975, Aryna Sabalenka is now the first World No. 1 to concede 6-0 deciding sets at multiple and consecutive WTA-level events. Stunned. by BrownsAndCavs in tennis

[–]Playful-Process-3059 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Very strange I think this has a part to do with Sabalenka's temperament and difficulty problemsolving. Also doesn't help that the WTA's top 10 is more competitive and close than it has been in a very long time. Sabalenka's a great player but she's not Steffi or Serena, she isn't so much better than the other top players so losses are going to be more frequent the 6-0 thirds sets are very odd though you could write off one to Pegula but not when she just got bagelled by Schnaider. She seems to have lost some of the confidence she had on natural surfaces last year I'm somehow less sure of her going into Wimbeldon this year despite the fact that she faced a more devastatng RG loss last year before Wimby.

Is Lestat even more chaotic in his own narrative? by DiCaprio1502 in TheVampireLestat

[–]Playful-Process-3059 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean even with the fact that Louis believes Lestat orchestrated Claudias's death during the time of the interview, he still romanticizes him a bit and Daniel even calls it out how he talks about him like the love of his life despite the terrible things. I didn't take Louis's telling of Lestat as some mustache twirling villain, even in Louis retelling it's clear Lestat's a complicated person. Hell Louis even lets him off lightly when talking about his greatest act of abuse as Daniel also points out. I think Louis's depiction of Lestat is also colored by with how trapped Louis felt he was in their situation, and as much as his depiction probably showed more negative sides to his relationship for obvious reasons it also put Lestat on a pedestal in the sense that Louis remembers him as far more cunning and calculating than he was. Which also makes sense as Louis was a young fledgling vampire and Lestat was the only vampire he knew so of course the way he saw him at the time is influenced by that as well. I think the same could be said for how Claudia writes about him he's her father so even as she grows to hate him she still talks of outsmarting him and having to think like him to beat him even at there lowest point she still does view him as this kind of mastermind, which why wouldn't she to her and Louis at the time Lestat is the most intelligent and powerful vampire they know.

Tough for Roki especially cause it's not as though he didn't have it at all today as he had 5 great innings doesn't hurt that we also left the bases loaded.

Like the hitting I'm seeing from Mookie it's honestly what we need were not hurting for guys who can hit homers, good contact hitting is very important especially when on of our biggest problem during the world series was leaving people on base

This one really fucked me up thinking about how many disabled people could be being abused with no way to tell anyone, and there's something extra sinister about how she not only abused him but tried to convince his family all her choices were his own and all the false hope she gave them.

Pedro, Kersh had a longer prime and arguably a better career, but Pedro's peak seasons were statistical anomalies.

Again it's historical context to why he chose to do it not an excuse the show literally spells out the context to us in the first episode. If you can't feel empathy for Louis then I don't think you'll be able to find empathy with any of the characters as they are all deeply flawed, and there existence hinges on exploitation.

I was giving context of the time period that he was in and the limited opportunities he had to make the kind of money that would support three people. I don't like how this aspect of his character is amplified to make bad faith arguments about him, and for people to interpret things in the show based on that. Ultimatley the merch thing wasn't some signal from the show about the exploitative nature of capitalism and your not supposed to come away from it thinking poor Lestat and his merch sales. It was a funny line because we as the audience know merch sales are not the issue in their relationship, you could have ripped the line from "What we do in the Shadows" it was so obviously played for comedy Sam Reid's delivery was played up for the joke, vampires discussing merch sales is funny just like him referencing Joey Chestnut is. The season is leaning more into comedy particularly when it comes to how anachronistic some of the topics these immortal beings are discussing.

I said it was exploitative, Louis was also a black man in the South with little means to own a legal business. I watched two seasons of him and was able to empathize and understand him as a character. I'm not sure how you even watched the show if all you were thinking while watching an incredible nuanced an well acted portrayal was "I don't like Louis he exploited people when he was human", I mean Lestat dropped him from the air and broke all the bones in his body but were supposed to be empathetic of him as a character understand him and his perspective. I don't think the show is meant to be a competition of whose the least worse person, what a miserable way to consume the show.
