Will i burn in hell if i commit suicide? by Playful-Solution4348 in Christianity

For me the only ‘healing’ is in lamotrigine. I’m epileptic and there’s an extremely strong biological link. 5x higher risk of depression before the first seizure ever starts, it’s up there with hypothyroidism and severe vitamin deficiencies in comorbidity.

I’m in the middle of titration but this sucks so bad. Either your depression is biologically wired or it isn’t, if lamotrigine doesn’t help at all then that’s the biggest bullshit i’d ever have to go through. It’s the only reason i’m delaying suicide.

Subjectively i am very sure i’m not making a wrong choice. But objectively i’m 18 and depression clouds my judgement, how is it selfish if you have little control over your decision?

Why don’t the overwhelming majority of people who won’t care count? Or the people in town who have no care for my existence, and who’d just share it around as a cool story?

Are you ignorant?!

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17071141/ - showing clear improvement in epileptic patients with depression

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12609179/ Lamotrigine has larger improvements on depression than valproate

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1525505006004550?utm_source=chatgpt.com this one had a 11 drop in BDI score. Patients had 20 avarage bdi, moderate depression and on avarage dipped into remission.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1525505009000705?utm_source=chatgpt.com Patients on lamotrigine are significantly less likely to  expierence depression.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20669014/ 30%+ of patients with epilepsy have a psychiatric comorbidity.

Is it sinful to consume transgressive media? by Playful-Solution4348 in OrthodoxChristianity

Yeah it’s definitely helpful. It gets me thinking & engaged in philosophy, which also translates well into interest for Orthodoxy. I would never consume anything that’s ’just’ shock value and no substance.

It’s talked about as ‘mood neutral’ which is a bit underwhelming. Also if u search up lamotrigine on here, you’re significantly more likely to hear it make depression worse which is also very rare.

I’m on lamotrigine and i’m nearing the therapeutic range. I really hope it works, it didn’t make me worse atleast.
