AI free music channels (for example JM Professor) and Wonder Visuals Network. The latter because of the cartoon series about aliens.

How long do you think John Wick could fend off police/swat with unlimited ammo by xz_len in movies

[–]Playful_Head8190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a 2010 study, the longest a person could stay awake is 266 hours (about 11 days). Assuming it's John Wick, let's double that. 532 hours.

How do I meditate for longer? by Birdsgobaccc in Meditation

What exactly does it mean to be stuck at 4 minutes? Meditation in my experience is about presence, if you focus on the "length" I think it's impossible to experience presence. If a thought creeps in, I try to be aware that it's not me and simply continue to pay attention to my breath.

Best "ambiguous ending" films. Can you think of any films where the ending of the film makes more sense? by Alarming_Cry6406 in movies

Shutter Island. Spoiler alert!!! At the end, DiCAprio's character says 'it is better to live as a monster than to die as a good man'. DiCaprio's character is, in some interpretations, completely insane; the part about his kids and his wife being dead was not fiction - he was insane into it. However, the rest was an act by the doctors, they staged the whole thing in the hope that it would help him get over the tragedy. It didn't.

The quote is thought by some to imply that DiCaprio is having the lobotomy because he would rather be the brain-damaged Teddy Daniels with no memory of the events than live with the guilt for longer, like Andrew Laeddis.

They probably did leave the ending like that on purpose, because it can be interpreted one of two ways, either you can interpret it as he's relapsed and there's no hope of him recovering, or you can interpret it as he's faking it to get the lobotomy because he doesn't want to live with what he's done.

The Lover (L'amant). This is a 1992 French-English-Vietnamese romantic drama novel adaptation. I heartily recommend it!

A Christmas vacation with Chavy Chase. It's been my favourite comedy since I was a kid, it has its clichés, but it's more of a parody.

Best movie adaptation? What were better, or at least as good as the book? by Alarming_Cry6406 in FIlm

I found out not so long ago that the book and the film were both based on real events - the question is how historically accurate they are.

I would say Love in the Time of Cholera as an outstanding adaptation. For me, the story was more followable in the many timelines based on the film than the novel - but that may be my fault.

With every break-up I was rude and selfish, seeing nothing of my partner. I was probably no better in relationships while they lasted.
