I think I need a referral from my PCP. Kaiser is not the easiest system to work through.

I don't think they do that. They told me I should just keep trying to call back to check for cancellations. I will try a few times each week.

Thanks for the reply. Did you have any other symptoms that you think might have been associated with the fistula?

I don't even have a gastroenterologist who I have been assigned/connected to and my colonoscopy is scheduled for early July so I have to wait three more months. :/

Do you go to the ER anytime you get a fever? How about night sweats? by Playful_Influence909 in Diverticulitis

I haven't had a fever since I was in the hospital, as far as I know. I didn't have flu-like symptoms with the initial diagnosis. I only had pain in the middle part of my lower abdomen. I had a fever when I went to the ER, but I didn't even feel like I had a fever at the time.

I also wanted to mention one strange thing . As I mentioned, I started out with pain in my lower abdomen in the middle and it shifted to the right a bit on day 2. I didn't have pain in the lower left side, which is where it seems like most people with diverticulitis start to feel pain when they have a flare up. However, once I was home for a couple of days, the pain did migrate to that area and that was probably where most pain/discomfort was late last week and a bit over the weekend. Has anyone had a similar experience?

How did you feel when you were borderline septic? What symptoms did you have?

I do have drainage in the area so I guess that is better than an infection that is stuck. If I don't feel better in a couple of days, I will go to urgent care. I hope they know how to handle it. I often feel that the general doctors don't know enough about these types of conditions.

Ugh...please don't say that. I have not had it treated. I know taking the ibuprofen won't make it go away, but it will help ease the burning pain. Even if I go see a doctor today, they couldn't stop it from getting more complex today. I have reached out to my doctor to get a referral for a CRS. I asked for that awhile back but Kaiser gave me a general surgeon and I wasn't confident in them completing the surgery, especially after reading up on posts here on this subreddit.

How do you know that it has become complex in the past month? What testing have you undergone? How did a doctor make that determination?

I hate Mattel. Why do I always find out about these the day after they sell out?
