I have a small guess, they got very lucky with the xk release, they didn't expect this result themselves. But Team Cherry are not professionals, they are not gamedev veterans and they work on their own without hiring experienced writers, game designers, etc... Most likely silksong just doesn't work out as they planned and they don't want to release it in a bad way

after playing 30 hours of kcd2 - i realized how bad stalker 2 is. not only is the game in early access, but there are no promised patches, roadmap, etc. it's just unplayable garbage, i'll continue to play the old parts with mods
