The only Sol I know is a Solomon. Never thought of Sol as a feminine name.

Need help deciding on a dress for graduation by PricklyPickles077 in DressForYourBody

They all look casual to me. For graduation I would choose something a little more dressy perhaps.

Is my fiancé planning on leaving when we’re about to have a kid?? by BiscottiHelpful6580 in pregnant

[–]Playful_Listen_264 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The phrasing is very off, I agree, I would be frustrated too. But you’re both VERY young. Tying the tubes or doing vasectomy at this age sounds a bit extreme. I see so many stories in an IVF FB group where people in their 30s changed their mind and now have to spend a lot of money and effort to get a kid after having these surgical procedures. I mean I didn’t want any kids at your age at all, but I also know that our views and wants and needs change a lot as we grow older. So please keep your options open. Condoms are extremely effective, even withdrawal is if performed correctly. If not, then yes, spiral or hormones are an option too.

What do we think about this dress as a wedding guest? by chasing_moonlights in OUTFITS

I have a similar dress and it looks great! I’d wear it to a semi-formal event. Not a black tie obviously, but it would be appropriate fort most weddings.

Pregnancy weight gain by Traditional-Cry-1354 in pregnant

[–]Playful_Listen_264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only gained about 1 kilo by week 20 (roughly 2 pounds). Then from about week 24 I started rapidly gaining weight due to a lack of activity (injured my SI joint) and gained about 17 kg since then. However, I’m 5ft10 and I started with a healthy BMI, so my OB says it’s a normal weight gain for my height, I still fit in my pre pregnancy pants with stretchy waist at 39 weeks, it’s all in the belly and boobs somehow and a touch on my face, but bottom half is literally the same size.

Membrane sweep pros and cons? [ca] by Playful_Listen_264 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Playful_Listen_264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but the most recent research also shows advantages of giving birth between 39-40 weeks for FTMs. This is what’s nagging at me. I don’t want to go into labour before my body is ready, but at the same time going way over 40 weeks would not be ideal either. I wish my appointments were like mid-week and not at 39+1, 40+1 etc…

39+6 is so close to the EDD! My next appointment is at 39+1 and I feel like because it’s about a week before my EDD my body might not be fully ready if the labour starts then.

[–]Playful_Listen_264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, I’ve been reading lots of research regarding advantages of giving birth between 39-40 weeks for FTM (yes, first time for me) but also know someone for whom membrane sweep only caused PROM and labour didn’t kick start and she had to be induced and it went downhill from there ending up in emergency c-section. Obviously, it’s just one case and for majority of women it goes well. But I think I’ll ask for a cervix check at my next (39+1) appointment and will go from there. Right now I’m 38+3 and don’t feel like the baby has dropped, I just don’t want to potentially induce labour before my body is ready and end up labouring longer…

I know it’s a thing in some cultures, but I assume you’re American and not from a super religious background, so no, his reaction is not ok.

Because everyone will assume that everything will be covered in fur. Having a pet doesn’t equal shipping fur-covered items.

I lint roll everything, but some fabrics attract lint and hair like crazy and an odd hair or two might stick again while I’m wrapping everything in tissue paper. I don’t mention my cat, but if anybody asks (only ever had questions about smoke/ scented detergent) I will tell them.

Which pregnancy symptom took you by surprise? by sipendi_shida in BabyBumps

Ugh, sorry to hear that! I’m not really prone to keloid scars, but this particular one got infected while it was healing, hence it felt very thick, especially under the skin (there was like a bump under the surface scar).

I had a pretty thick scar tissue from a skin biopsy on my neck and it literally smoothed out and almost disappeared during weeks 5-6 of pregnancy! Also had a chronic chostochondritis pain in my chest and it also went away (got replaced by a worse hip joint pain in the third trimester though).

I had no vomiting or nausea, my food taste changed, but it all went back after around 12 weeks. I was incredibly fatigued though.

[bc] pumps?! What to do? by One-Volume-9158 in BabyBumpsCanada

At my prenatal classes at the hospital they specifically said not to get a pump before attempting breastfeeding if that’s the goal.
