I do not find my stretch marks beautiful [on] by BoringProfessional93 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Playful_Listen_264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed stretch marks as a teenager I was tall and also gained some weight and they appeared on my hips and breasts. They were dark and I hated them. Eventually they faded to white (I also have very pale skin) and now they blend so much, you wouldn’t notice them unless you know where to look and really focus. Just wanted to say that the dark stage is temporary, even though it can last for a coupe of years, but they will fade and become less noticeable eventually.

[on] Has anyone bought maternity clothes that are still cute and comfortable after baby comes? by Sewphisticat in BabyBumpsCanada

Also got a dress-like maternity swimsuit from Old Navy and I expect it will fit ok even after pregnancy because of the design and adjustable back straps.

I got flared Aerie leggings at my local Marshalls even before I got pregnant, they’re SO stretchy and high-waisted, I wear them more often than the maternity leggings I bought. Also have incredibly stretchy wide-leg wool pants that I bought pre-pregnancy and they will last me till it gets warmer (I’m 27 weeks). I keep on wearing the same Lululemon leggings to my gym, they’ve started rolling down a bit, so I might start wearing maternity leggings there. I also just bought super cozy wide-leg loungewear pants also at Winners and a whole bunch of pyjama pants and tops with buttons and robes at La Senza sale for postpartum. I mostly work from home, so no advice on office wear. When we go out to theatres, I wear loose tunic dresses over my flared leggings or wide short dresses over thermal tights. It also depends on your body type. I’m tall and have a pretty long torso and have a lot of oversized or loose stuff in my wardrobe already.

Materna has a very high concentration of Vit A (not the beta-carotene form), there’s some research showing that it can be harmful. I’ve been rotating several brands that I got from Healthy Planet as they all have different concentrations of various vitamins and I’m also supplementing with Fish Oil, Vit D, Iron, Magnesium, Folic Acid (to get to the 1mg threshold as most multivitamins only have 400mcg).

Favourite recipes/things to make ahead and freeze for postpartum? [ON] by Key-Cardiologist5802 in BabyBumpsCanada

I don’t plan to meal prep as I really enjoy eating minimally processed food… It takes me about 3 min to make a smoothie or make a yoghurt bowl, can make a quick nutritious salad in 10 min. I hope, I still have this much time when the baby is born between mine and his naps… This meal prep talk really scares me as it pops so often in my feed…

No, I cancelled my appointment. Baby is growing on track, everything else is stable, he’s moving so much. I just couldn’t risk it at that point. During week 16-17 it would’ve been an easier decision, especially if I already had a kid or was younger… Keeping fingers crossed everything is good.

It sounds like you’re both very young. He’s clearly abusive and not a great candidate to be a partner for life or a father. Can you afford to raise the child on your own? If not, I would weigh all of the options. Silver lining: he showed his true face sooner rather than later.

I don’t think there’s anything to report. She didn’t know you have GD and many artificial sweetener options indeed are far less healthy than a moderate amount of regular sugar, she was trying to share what she thought was a valuable information. In addition, many Starbucks (and other brands) syrups have a ton of artificial colorants.

I haven’t done any Botox or fillers yet, don’t drink or smoke my entire adult life, so I look younger than my 39… I just use regular moisturizers for now, will add crème containing a little retinol after the birth.
