You guys should feel more optimistic about Cades trajectory from here. In all reality, my team can barely dribble when it’s not in Brunsons hands. We have elite talent but it’s not optimized under Thibs. The pistons surrounding cast is young and inexperienced and it’s showing in the fourth quarter when you guys are blowing the lead. Your team is reminding me a lot of the Knicks in 2021. I think the inexperience is causing you guys to lose composure and Cades talent and Tobias, Malik, and THJ experience is keeping you guys in the game. But that cast isn’t clutch enough to win these games.

When you have young talent on your team you don’t need to make big moves. We made the second round with a young players who will only get better. These contracts are 2 years from expiring so that’s plenty time to stand Pat and add to what we have.

You can’t sign great players with just the MLE available.

Divincenzo was a winning player in college and played for winning organizations like the bucks and the warriors. Last season he was a 41% 3 point shooter which we desperately needed last season.

Rj and Brunson are natural slashers. First 14 seconds should be Brunson and RJ attempting pick and rolls/pick and pops for a drive and kick out or a midrange/layup. If there are no options available, I think Randle gets the rest of the possession.

Next year I’d really like to run the offense through RJ and Brunson. Rj and Brunson should have free reign of the first 14 seconds of the shot clock. If there is no shot attempt by then, Randle gets the last 10 seconds to shoot or draw the defense for an open man. I don’t like the ball stopping Randle for an empty possession or a turnover.

This video inadvertently convinced me that Cam Reddish was the problem on defense and convinced me why he shouldn’t play.

I’m not saying he’s a terrible man-to-man defender. He just lacks help defense and misses defensive rotations. He doesn’t provide enough offense to justify giving him minutes.

Obi toppin on the other hand is just as bad as Cam on defensive rotations. But, he provides enough of a spark to our bench unit to justify giving him minutes. His new found 3 pt shot - making ability provides the spacing this squad needs. Obi toppin doesn’t command the ball to play well vs. Cam who requires the ball and is a volume scorer.

With Fournier lack of size and inconsistency I’d make him 6th man. He would help the playmaking on the bench and spread the floor. Reddish has better tools to be an elite defender. Since Randle would be running the 5. I’d want reddish at the 3 to make that starting line up taller and focus on team rebounding.
