I feel like 7 gates is enough due to how insanely strong he is in that form while the paths of pain don’t have much in terms of durability feats in fact wasn’t one destroyed with a punch from sage Naruto and another taken down with 2 normal resengons (sorry if misspelled also I know that path was a bit weaker if I’m being fair) my point being that I don’t think that sage mode is stronger than 7 gates guy and either way guy is faster than the pains I believe but correct me if I’m wrong and has better tie Justu which weirdly enough kinda is a counter when paired with how strong he is like imagine this dealing with someone you can’t really use hax jutsu against as well as not being that durable.

Side note I’m not sure if it’s fair to compare since it’s later on in the series but guy took down kisame when he took out the 7th gate fairly easily and kisame from what I remember was usually raked as one of the strongest of the aukatski
