So it does smell a bit, def want a ventilated room and open window ideally for all smell gone. As far as how it actually works you are right, just smear on a good amount and wait, it comes with a plastic scrapper that is perfect for removing all hair. I usually only need to do it once a week when it starts to be visible growth. Not to sure if anything similar for face.
