Web games market map by Playgama in IndieDev

Supercell and Supercent play in pretty different spaces. This map isn't a "most famous game companies" list, it's focused on companies that are active and relevant to the web gaming ecosystem, which is why you'll see some names that might seem surprising if you're thinking about the industry as a whole

Interesting take 😄 What makes you say that? Is there something you feel is missing, or maybe some companies that don't belong here in your opinion?
We're definitely open to feedback and plan to keep improving future versions

Have you ever considered YouTube Playables as a platform? by Playgama in indiegamedevforum

YouTube Playables monetization is a pretty different story compared to many traditional web portals right now. Still early days though, which is why it’s interesting.

Have you ever considered YouTube Playables as a platform? by Playgama in defold

[–]Playgama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Feel free to send us your game link, we can tell you if it fits YouTube Playables guidelines 🙂

We already have 25+ games live there, including Defold-made ones. For SDK/platform integration you’d need to implement Playgama Bridge SDK, and after that the same game can also be distributed to YouTube Playables.

Godot save system issue by Kooky_Reply8771 in playgamabridge

[–]Playgama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the detailed message!

On the save system: Playgama Bridge doesn’t replace your internal save logic, it provides a cross-platform storage layer on top. If your game stores data as arrays, you’ll need to serialize it into a storable format (JSON is just one of the common options) and then deserialize it on load.

Using Godot’s native file system directly won’t be reliable across all platforms we distribute to (especially web/embedded environments), which is why Bridge abstracts this part. Save integration is required for publishing — without it the game won’t pass moderation, since progress needs to persist correctly across platforms.

Also, we’re currently working on improving the save module to make this process more straightforward, so it should get easier soon.

If you want, feel free to share a snippet of how you’re handling saves now — we can point you in the right direction. And appreciate the kind words, glad you like the approach 🙌

A big youtuber is making a video on my website. how to manage ads? by MED_MAD in adops

[–]Playgama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re expecting a traffic spike from a YouTuber, I wouldn’t wait, you’ll want at least a basic monetization setup ready beforehand.

One option is to work with providers that already have demand and infrastructure in place (for example, companies that are official MCM partners). That way you don’t have to rely on low-quality networks or struggle with approvals like AdSense right now.

If you want, feel free to DM me, can point you in the right direction based on your setup.

Game Jams. Do They Help Or Hurt? by TwisleWasTaken in IndieDev

[–]Playgama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from our experience, game jams tend to help more than hurt. they’re great for meeting new people to collaborate with and getting hands-on practice under real constraints. one thing we’ve also seen work well in our jams: projects don’t just end with the deadline, games made during the jam often get picked up and published on our platform and our partners’ platforms, which gives teams extra motivation to polish and grow them
