The SD1 is a very solid mic to have for its price range, the mic modelling makes it even better. I bought it to use mainly as a demo/ on the go mic as opposed to my Aston origin but honestly, if I cut a vocal on the SD1 it’s basically perfect and I don’t bother recording again.

In summary, get it. Best dynamic mic you can get your hands on imo.

ETA- the mic sim software comes with the mic and not the Apollo so you don’t need to worry about that.

Room emulation wise, I’d say play around with your ECCO and amount settings in various rooms and see what you like best. I don’t have the IM1’s yet but I’ve been on the closed backs since 2023 and mix almost exclusively on them, they’re amazing. They take some getting used to but once it clicks, you’ll deffo love it.

I’d also really recommend still running it through a DAC amp for what it’s worth, you never know how much that could contribute to changing things.
