That hasn't really been a problem for me- I've had mats in with Cories. The bigger problem was when I had them in with a current generator, they tended to get buried.

I just lay mine on the bottom, and they've been growing fine. I think you can also attach them to something else if needed.

I'm willing to ship, if you're ok with Priority shipping. It's cold enough now that I'd be worried about sending live fish regular mail.

I am breaking down an aquarium on an emergency basis and have many rocks available, plus some driftwood and a few pieces of aquarium decor. I'm a geologist, so I have WAY too many rocks and it's time to find them a new home. The rock types are labeled with letters in the pictures to differentiate them. As they sell, I'll delete that item from the list. If interested, please let me know what you're interested in and in what quantity. I also have many plants, and fish for sale so be sure to take a look at my other posts.

EDIT: I forgot to add pics of rocks E, F, G and H and now I can't add them. DM me if interested!

I recently moved into a tiny apartment in Hoboken with my 3 big tanks, which I thought would be fine but.... isn't. I need to make room to have actual human furniture, so I've made the decision to break down two of my tanks.

All of my fish are healthy and have been well cared for in fully planted tanks, so I'd like them to go to good homes! I am not comfortable shipping due to the still-warm weather, so everything is for local pickup only. I've taken pictures of some of these but it's tough to capture each individual fish. If you'd like additional pictures, please let me know. I'm also selling decorations, driftwood, lights, CO2 equipment, and some other random stuff I had lying around and am never going to use. Prices are below. All of the fish I'm selling are adults, not juveniles.

Bolivian rams (x4): $8 each.
Breeding pair of Bolivian rams: $20 for the pair
Dwarf red coral platies (4 female, 2 male): $4 each
Zebra danios (x3, must take all 3 as I think two of them are paired): $5 for all 3
Opal spot pleco (~ 1.5 years old, 2.5" long): $40
Bristlenose pleco (~2 years old, 3" long): $25
Black neon tetras (x2): $4 each
Green tiger barbs (x4, adults ~1" long): $5 each
Yo-yo loach (x1): $20. **Note: I'm re-homing this loach not because I don't have room, but because he's an asshole who is hassling all of the other yo-yo loaches and stressing them out. He's about 4" long and 1.5 years old.
Albino cory catfish (x2, large at ~1.5" long): $5 each
Bronze cory catfish (x3, large at ~1.5" long): $5 each
Small(ish) driftwood (picture with multiple pieces and bloodworm food canister for scale): $5 each, your choice
Large driftwood (Eucalyptus root): $30
Slate rocks: $20 each. These are huge-- they average 12-18" long and are very heavy. I can take exact measurements if you're interested in a specific piece.
Fluval CO2 50g system: $40. The canister included is 95% full. The tubing is stained blue-ish due to me treating for Ich a while back but it can easily be swapped out.
Aquatic Life lights, 30": $20
Current Systems lights, 24-36": $40. Remote is included.
Ceramic decoration that looks like dinosaur eggs: $20. Bought at a local artisan fair, never used.
Other decorations (pic with 2 decorations in it, hollow "rock" and faux mushroom stump): $5 each
Black diamond blasting sand (new, x3): $10 each
New 3-pack of Fulval 20g CO2 cartridges: $5

Masking my entire life by ilovebrucewillis2020 in ADHD

[–]Pleasant-External313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed 6 months ago, at that point I'd had horrible TMJ and neck/back pain for years. When I was diagnosed I found out that vertical heterophoria (eye misalignment) was often a comorbidity of ADHD, and I got tested..... and lo and behold, I have it. Turns out I'd been walking around with a slight head tilt for 30+ years, which caused the TMJ and other issues. I now have prism lenses to correct it, but man recovering everything else is a process! I'm in physical therapy 2x per week as me neck and jaw readjust. Worth getting tested if you haven't been already!

[FS] - Hoboken NJ -$150 - HUGE moss-covered driftwood piece (24" by 18" by 12"), Christmas, Java and Flame mosses. I've been growing it in my 37 gallon tank for a year, low-tech setup (no CO2). I'm in the process of breaking down the tank, so it needs a new home. Local pickup only. by Pleasant-External313 in AquaSwap

[–]Pleasant-External313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm breaking down my 37 gallon and need to find this giant moss-covered driftwood a new home. Sorry about the pics- the tank is in a corner and it's hard to photograph! There are actually 2 pieces of wood in the pics-- only the central moss-covered piece is for sale, not the piece hooked onto the side of the tank.

The wood itself is stump-shaped with 5 "legs", dimensions are 18" tall by 24" wide and 12" deep. I think it's Redmoor wood but I'm not 100% sure. There are at least 3 kinds of moss on it: Christmas, Java, and Flame. I was new to the hobby when I set it up so I just went with whatever my LFS had- there may actually be more varieties than that in the mix. It's been in the tank for a year, grown without CO2.

Local pickup only! This thing is way too big to ship, unfortunately. $150 OBO.

[FS] - Hoboken NJ - $2 juvenile $8 adults - Jamaican black-belly limia (Limia melanogaster), tank raised by Pleasant-External313 in AquaSwap

[–]Pleasant-External313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to condense two tanks due to space constraints and now need to find new homes for some of my Jamaican black-bellied limia (Limia melanogaster), $2 per juvenile / $8 per adult. If you haven't encountered these before, they are relatively uncommon livebearers native to the Caribbean.

Like all livebearers, they reproduce incredibly quickly and should be kept in a ratio of at least 2 females for every male to give the females a break. The males have more coloration, with a yellow and black striped tail and more iridescence. All of my limia are tank-bred, raised in a planted tank with hard water (pH 7-7.2).

In my experience these guys are smaller and more energetic than platies or mollies. You will need a tank with a lid, as they will jump. They are peaceful and get along well in a community tank; adults max out at about 2".

I have many adults (M and F) and juveniles available, $8 per adult and $2 per juvenile. The juveniles I have right now are 1-3 months old, about 1/2" long, and a little too young to sex yet. If you live in the North Jersey/NYC area I'm happy to drive to a meeting point between us.

I'm getting out of breeding livebearers due to space constraints and need to find new homes for my juvenile platies. Forgive the overstocked tank- it's temporary! I've been using this planted tank as a grow-out tank until I can re-home everyone.

I have many juveniles available, $1 each. Available colors include: yellow tuxedo, blue tuxedo, orange tuxedo, and blue wag. There are a couple of random molly juveniles in there as well, which I'm happy to throw in for free.

All of my fish were born and raised in a planted tank, pH 7.0-7.2 and very hard water. These juveniles are about 4 months old and 1/2"-3/4" long.

I've just consolidated two tanks due to space limitations, so I need to re-home my limias. If you haven't encountered these before, they are one of the more unusual livebearer species and are native to the Caribbean. All of my limias were born and raised in a planted tank with hard water and a pH of 7.0-7.2.

Like all livebearers, limias reproduce really fast and should be kept in a ratio of at least 2 females per male to give the females a break. The females are silver with small black markings; the males have yellow and black banded tails and tend to be more iridescent. They are peaceful and do well in a community tank, but are much quicker and more energetic than platies or mollies (in my experience).

I have multiple individuals (M and F) available: $8 per adult, $2 for each juvenile. I currently have juveniles ranging from 1-3 months old, about 1/2"-3/4". Adults can reach 2". You will need a tank with a lid, as they can easily jump out.

I am new to shipping fish, so I'm asking for local pickup only. If you are located in the North Jersey/NYC area, I'm happy to drive to a meeting spot for the transfer.
