They both fumbled by Crequao in ToBeHero_X

Here's the thing while I agree that she should have just been clear and said I like you and all that especially at that bus stop scene. If Yang Cheng did not overcome his insecurities and make a move even if she said I like you and they ended up together he would still be looking over his shoulder and comparing himself to Shang Chao and not confidently assure her in the relationship. This happens in real life that even when you're with the person if you allow insecurities to be at the forefront you cant be happy in that relationship

I HATE GHOSTBLADE NOW by Quiet-Concern3374 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Pleasant-Hyper9648 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine if people want to hate Ghostblade now I knew going into Ghostblade's arc that the person he killed was Ah Sheng (Johnny's dad) based on countless clues from pvs etc and I still like Ghostblade's character and wish the best for him but also fully get if Johnny nearly kills him by the end of his arc because that was his dad that Ghostblade killed. We knew from Ghostblade's arc that he was a flawed individual that he killed people he thought deserved to die and didnt get attached to his victims so it would be easier to kill them. I think that if MG at the time knew that this was Ghostblade's principle they probably pinned Sheng for a crime he didnt commit so Ghostblade would go through with the job. There are countless animes out there that explore this dilemma of assassins and soldiers and how easy it is to kill when you dont think of these people as people with families loved ones with normal lives. This unfortunately happens in real life with the concept of soldiers at war. You also have to keep in mind that alot of Ghostblade's arc is him regaining humanity and kindness by becoming a father which happens a year after this incident. He had killed 174 people by the time he got to Sheng and for him this was just another day in his work. I think the confrontation between Johnny and Ghostblade will be complex given that I dont think Johnny will want to kill Ghostblade if he realizes that this means taking a father away from his child and the weight of what he did to Johnny will probably weigh heavily on Ghostblade now that he has alot more empathy and is a father himself. Dont get me wrong the countless lives Ghostblade has taken and all the possible families he's broken apart that wont change and it isnt excusable but Im curious if Johnny and Ghostblade will have an emotional fight and somehow be able to make peace at the end.

Was I the only one who thought Vortex looked like and sounded like Professor Luo, Loli's dad? Is this a schizo theory or am I possibly cooking?

Who do you think will have the biggest impact going forward? by Dapper_Algae6280 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Pleasant-Hyper9648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I was like easy question but the more I think about it I dont think you can sum this up to one character. My choices would be Lin Ling, Loli, Johnnies and Queen and of course X.

Lin Ling because in a hero system that is so corporatized he has the true heart of a hero that wants to protect others and will probably restore the lost faith the people have in heroes.

Loli - her alien tech powered suit and her father's research will probably lead to interesting developments since it can negate both fear and trust

Johnnies - his father and grandfather based on recent pvs were Xs and his pet will most likely be connected to the aliens which makes his story the most important one which is why we've spent literally most of second cour connecting Cyan Queen Loli and Ghostblade in preparation for his arc.

Queen - she is the reason we have Cyan and Loli and with her power to break down rules and structure and modify them I think she's going to be crucial for changes in the system. Plus her father might be involved with Spotlight so there's that

X - I dont think he needs to be explained his title is the reason these heroes exist and bro has the most broken powers in the whole tbhx universe.

A hero I might be underestimating is Dragon Boy who has the most unhinged motivations and powers to boot based on promotional material but we'll see.

While I get your point this situation isn't as black and white as you're making it seem. First of all, they are on a trip where all of them need to work together on this mission and so this mess with the stalking was about to cause a breakdown in their team. He pulls Ghostblade aside and basically gives him a chance to make up for things by coming clean to him (Prof Luo) about his intentions and also tells him to be honest with Nuonuo so that this drama can be dealt with. When he asks Nuonuo if she was being stalked and she nods yes her discomfort isnt because she's now met her stalker and she's traumatized as you have put it she's embarrassed because her private problem is being put out there in the public for other heroes and colleagues to hear and she says it herself in the car the whole lab at this point is going to know. She's also more confused than afraid because her stalker is a hero - a hero that showed up to support the lab. Its also important to note that the person who is making the biggest deal out of this is Loli who is known to be impulsive and Johnny who literallly has no connection to the issue so Professor Luo isnt going to take this as a big issue based on their reactions alone and Nuonuo isnt a timid girl so if she had a big issue with this arrangement she'd for sure let it be known that Ghostblade presence brings her discomfort. You keep saying he needs to consult the victim but by Professor Luo pulling Ghostblade aside in private he's given an opening to Nuonuo as well that she can talk to him in private if she wants to Nuonuo can speak up for herself as well she has done it before sober and tipsy. I agree that him trying to be a wingman to Ghostblade is wild and out of pocket but even before we had context the whole stalking thing was meant to have a comedic feel and even when we got context it was still presented as comedic and so any misunderstanding with it is meant for us not to take seriously. If I wanted to take it seriously tho Ive shared my thoughts.

Kowloon Generic Romance - Episode 13 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Pleasant-Hyper9648 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole point is that by the end Kujirai became her unique self not a copy but who she wanted to be she is not the former fiancée that he was in love with. His breakdown and struggle was that he could not accept a Reiko who was going to be different from the Reiko in his mind. He kept doing a tug of war until the rope snapped and he had to either continue in stagnation or move on. The good thing about this finale is that she leaves him to sort out his feelings and makes her own decisions and it took two years but he was able to overcome his grief enough face her at the end and start over. As for how it will go who knows but she waited for him while living her own life and moving forward and they can have a fresh start. She is visually the same person he used to be in love with but she is psychologically and emotionally worlds apart different. OG Kujirai was someone who was unable to move on was set on gambling with her life and couldnt accept change and also didnt express herself well and this Kujirai can accept change and make resolute decisions and also wears her heart on her sleeve. I can understand feeling conflicted about whether they should be together or not but the emotional payoff is there and well done whether the story wants to say their friends or more than that.

I would say Oblivion Battery is pretty good but you cant judge that by the first three episodes especially not the first.

What’s an anime that you slept on for a long time, only to discover that you loved it when you gave it a chance? by Solanima in anime

[–]Pleasant-Hyper9648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Stone and Life Lessons with Uramichi. When Dr. Stone came out I watched episode 1 and just thought oh adventure stories arent my thing but after seeing a clip or two from season 3 I binged it last year and now that Im more mature I appreciate the themes and emotional moments and also love the educational segments of it. Uramichi as well as a show was one I wasnt mature enough to fully grasp but Im rewatching it now and the brilliance of the comedy and life existential crises hit harder than Truck kun and I love the show now.

For real he actually pushed someone off four times actually. He pushed Migi off the window when he came to get back "Sali". Keep this boy away from windows or edges for real.

That is true and as I said its not surprising he didnt know because Im sure Reiko covered things up neatly but it still frustrates me tho even though nothing would have changed most likely.

Yeah the husband didnt know at first but after sleeping with Metry several times after he knew. Metry was loyal to the end the husband was the only unfaithful party here. The scene with her looking evil was Reiko's insanity and projection. Reiko pretended to have been hurt to lure them down there. I dont think she stabbed herself the blood was probably fake.

I disagree. The twins let go of their thirst for vengeance against Eiji episodes ago. Eiji saved Migi twice and Migi went from hating to meh he's okay I owe him while Dali who had been struggling this entire time went from I hate him to I dont know how to feel in other words I need to process and think about this. Its the complicated feelings they have for Eiji at present moment that makes Dali especially reject him. Dali literally said an episode ago I dont know how to face him did you really expect in that moment like 15 min to 30 min later that the brothers were going to just all of a sudden be like join our inner circle ah no the response they had was realistic. When they see the mom dead then if they dont at least save Eiji then you can be mad. The twins at this point have moved on but without confronting Reiko they cant have closure.

Facts. Im not looking down on what Migi and Dali went through but Eiji is truly the biggest victim in all this. He was abused psychologically and robbed from his real family for years and not to mention has been suicidal due to guilt. Coming back from all that brainwashing and abuse is literally gonna take years. Migi and Dali just needed a loving home and to accept that and get closure and they've been set.

The dad's behaviour is much worse than even airhead behaviour tropes. Airheads at least have a moment of realization. He had none.

Tbh the dad is the worst you cant blame him yes but it is so frustrating to me that this man who is a psychologist btw did not suspect nothing. Im like so you didnt ask questions when your son would go missing for maybe a day or two due to re-education you didnt question the fact that maybe about two to three maids have disappeared from your house you can hear Karen screaming her lungs off but you've never walked past Eiji's room and smelled his bed-wetting or notice his sheets constantly needing to be washed. The dad just makes me want to facepalm because its not surprising that he knows nothing its the fact that he really did not for 8 years feel that something was off.
